I like the magazine release, its just got a bit more purchase. Is it necessary? No, but its nice.
The magwell is nicely flared and fits really well. I think its a very good improvement. However, the area in front of the magwell, where it wraps around, touches your wrist in some instances. Is it a deal killer? No, but its occupying space your hand likes to use. |

I only installed them together, but I would think the little clip on magazine release would be kinda required to really clear the magwell flare. But Im sure it works without it.

The 18" and 20" variants are now available.
Note the safety selector has been redesigned. Greatly improved. It shows the redesigned safety on the 18" and 20" variants, but not the 16" variant. I'm assuming the design change will be implemented for all variants in the future. Attached File Attached File |

The FDE, ODG, and grey 16" guns show the updated safety in promo pics.

The lever arm on the Manticore safety is longer which makes operation easier.
Speaking of Manticore, I am waiting (im)patiently for them to release their next product. |

Has anyone heard anything about G36 magwells like the original? I seem to remember there was some info that they were being sold by Springfield in other countries with a G36 magwell. I haven’t been able to find anything else about it an I’m beginning to think I imagined the whole thing lol.

Could someone take a pic w/ their stock in, & then the rifle in the same position w/ the stock out so we can get an idea of LOP from the left shoulder?

The LOP is my hang-up. Granted I've never fired one, but I've handled one. I'm short, and that 16" is incredibly awkward feeling to me, which is too bad because they seem solid otherwise.

I'm 5'9" and I don't think the LoP is that big a deal at all when fully collapsed. Now, I haven't fired mine, but I've been practicing reloads with it to figure out what method of releasing the bolt I like best, and I don't really think it's going to be an issue for me. |

I don't think you can necessarily use a person's height as an indicator of how they handle LOP. Arm length would be a better indicator of that.
|
|
|
Im 6'2"
The Hellion LOP is rather long, even on me and I shoot other bullpups. I do prefer my shocks a bit shorter on my non-bullpup guns if that makes sense (14"). |
|
|
I'm 5' 6" and have no issues with LOP.
Bullpups don't handle like regular carbines. People have been gravitating towards shorter and shorter LOPs but it doesn't work with bullpups. |

I’m 5’11 and the LOP doesn’t bother me … it is one of the only two bullies besides an Aug that I’ve been able to really transition with without feeling I have a 2x6 in my shoulders if that makes sense.

How is everyone mounting lights to their rifle? I'm wanting to use a Streamlight HL-X, but I've watched a video (that I now can't find) that mentioned a standard straight mount for a scout won't work due to the small bump where the notches of the handguard are.
Also, are there any non-obvious places to make sure oil/grease is applied or to avoid? |

It seems almost too simple to be true but the ergonomic improvements of the Manticore curved buttpads are magical. Completely changed (for the better) the handling of the Tavor 7. This looks to be just the same.
I'm not bothered by the LOP of the OEM stock but this will be an improvement for a lot of folks in that regard too. |

I had a curved pad on my SAR before I (stupidly) sold it. Out of curiosity, is this the shortest the LOP the Hellion can get (ignoring SBR issues)? Yes, this is physically about as short as the Hellion LOP can get at 15.5" with our Hellion Curved Buttpad. (OEM length of pull is 16.5 - 18.25") Ignoring NFA you might be able to shave a little more off by removing the rubber buttpad, but ultimately you run into the cheekpiece and your face starts getting crammed against the rear of the rail and into the rear iron sight. This is about the "sweet spot" of as short as possible while still being functional and ergonomic. Sven Manticore Arms |
