Hey Pete, glad to see you around the forums. I've had an AUG A3 that's been pretty hard to charge from the beginning but it's not exhibiting the bushing issue. I might have about 1K through it and it's been awesome in the accuracy department. I've noticed the issue gradually getting better, but does it improve even further or are they just generally tough to charge? Looking forward to the CQC. Always wanted one of those! v/r, Jeff Hello Jeff, Your AUG A3 should charge very smooth. Its possible your charging handle is a few thousands oversized causing it to drag when it's tilted back while charging. If you like you can send the receiver to us and we will check it out for you, of course free of charge. Pete Athens |

Pete any iidea when they will be releasing the 16/18/20" 1-7 twist hammer forged barrels? I would say a few more months. FN is a bit behind on the barrels. Pete Athens |

With an 18 in. barrel, will the overall length be over 30 inches?
|
|
|
Ah, close enough for me. I can add a longer muzzle brake to reach the minimum 30 in. requirement for california (doesn't have to be permanent, could be met with even a piece of wooden dowel duct taped to the end of the stock)
Thank you PJ. |

I'll ask this another way. Honestly, I would prefer not to buy the adaptor my suppressor brand offers and keep it simple. Will later barrels be threaded 1/2x28 to accommodate the American market or can the barrels be threaded to 1/2x28 upon customer request only?
Thank you. |

Pete, please correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like your company doesn't accept credit cards.
Is there an alternative here? Tia. Anxious buyer. |

Found it, finally. I think I need a better intranet connection.

I'll call them to see what the future options are in this matter. |

Pete , do you know if they plan to come out with a 4x factory optic, i know some of the old Aug's had the 4x.

When? That is a great question, Steyr has a huge AUG military contract and they are backed up for at least a year better. 14" barrels, waiting on FN to provide samples, they too are backed up. Seems like everybody is backed up! I have the AUG A3 brakes in stock. Thanks, Pete Athens http://www.pjs-steyraug.com/flashideroptions.jpg Can anyone tell me the difference between the tulip flashhider and these? I'd like to suppress eventually; are these part of that? |

Pete, are bayonets and lugs available to non-mils? PJ has the lugs for sale for $45 and the bayonets for $150. Looks like it just goes onto the barrel and you tighten some sorta screw and go to town I even remember seeing someone put one on a MSAR once. Mil gets good pricing on a lot of stuff but joes can't use that to get stuff everyone else can't it has to be old Uncle Sam buying prohibited stuff. |

Pete Athens I've noticed that the charging handle is a bit sticky, especially when the trigger is needing to be set. I'm assuming that will get better as I get more than 120 rounds down it. Mine is on a NATO stock if that matters. |

They were marked Sabre on the bottom of the receiver. Steyr sent them to VLTOR and VLTOR finished them up to the specs and anodizing that they use. On the outside they look like like the 100% machined AUG A3 receivers will look. These hit the market a few weeks ago. Pete Athens |

Thanks Pete for the rifle and great customer service. Max |

All the current production A3s have FN Barrels. There was only 33 left over Sabre barrels and those are long gone. Same twist 1:9. The VLTOR receivers will marked the same. Pete Athens |

Doesn't sound like there will be many of these. Have you looked on the underside of the receiver, which is normally covered by the stock? To my knowledge, they all say Steyr Arms on the upper side, but the underside says whether it's Sabre Defense or Vltor. I just got one, S/N 3USA9xx, and the upper is marked like yours, but on the underside it says Sabre Defense. Also, from what I understand, the 3USA guns are SD receivers, while the Vltor ones are marked 4USA. |

Pete,
Living in CT, are there any models not listed Styer AUG than we can own? I thought about buying a USR and converting, but I am stuck with the Styer scope. Can't anyone stamp a few guns a different name for us poor people in CT? |
