Here is a little hint for the folks that can't seem to grasp the whole 18 months thing.

MIDTERM FUCKING ELECTIONS!

Discuss...or not.

...WHY would they see it to their advantage to ask for only a three month extension of the debt ceiling?
Why don't you tell us oh enlightened one.

Socrates is embarrassed FOR you.

18 months was on the table, and they asked for just three.

You might not know the answer, but you should at LEAST recognize that the question should be asked.
As we all know you did not correctly predict the election outcome so why is it you now believe you can read minds?

Serious question.

Getting past an "Inside the Beltway" bias is probably harder than kicking crack cocaine.

I shudder to think how hard my Pro Trump bias would be to kick if Trump started screwing up.

On a side note, Donald Jr. did not think his dad would win (so he told the person standing next to him on Election Night).
If you have a confirmation bias ridiculous rumors can really feed it.

You have to realize that in hindsight most every able minded, non biased person recognizes the election results were very predictable.

Even the Hildabeast acknowledged the results were predictable.

So if person was blindsided by that outcome it might be a time for introspection.

This would be a good thread to revisit in December to see what additional concessions the D's can extract from Trump.

Although I'm not sure "extract" is the right word.  That sort of implies effort on the part of the Democrats...
LOL.

All the hurricanes must have blown the murkiness out of Bullet Spo's busted crystal ball.

Hang on because now he will actually begin to make his accurate predictions.

Next thing we know he will claim to have fixed his busted FISA book.

At least he has come to grips with the fact Trump is not going to be impeached, so there's that.

Yes, partly.

As has been posted several times in the thread, he has done nothing or next to nothing to leverage the GOPe, despite claims to the contrary with nothing so far to back it up.

Trump could be publicly calling them out by name on Twitter and the press and, behind closed doors threatening to publicly support primary opponents, just to name a very few things. But, so far, that only seems to be reserved for Conservatives.

In Trump's mind though, it apparently makes more sense to jump in bed with the hard core left.

So I'm confused.

People love Trump because he is going to destroy the RINOs.

Yet he does the exact same thing that made people hate RINOs, like John McCain, in the first place. How is giving the democrats everything they want not the definition of a RINO?  Why is it bad when everyone else does it, but super awesome when Trump does it?

It's obvious to see why the democrats like short term debt limits. They get concessions each time. Pretty sure in December they will be willing to extend it again for three months as long as none of the money can be used for a border wall, and Trump agrees not to deport any dreamers. They can string this out for his entire administration and ensure nothing he promised will ever get done.

How do people continue to post this crap? Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell want an 18-month no limit spending agreement, Some Republican who do not like Trump's plan admit it was better than the RINO Plan. To get that they would have given the Dems more than they got in the last two CRs combined.

The deal Paul Ryan wanted provided nothing for The Wall either, and with the 18-month time frame word have locked out The Wall funding til 2019.

Give it a rest.  Look no further than the appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the USSC.  That was Trump's first pick, and his second will likely by just as good, if not better.

BTW, here are the first USSC picks by prior "Republican"  presidents:

"Obamacare" Roberts (Bush II)
Souter (Bush I)
O'Connor (Reagan)
Stevens (Ford)
Burger (Nixon)
Warren (Eisenhower)

I see three leftists and three moderates on that list.  If the "democrats control the Executive branch" is indeed the case, maybe that isn't a bad thing given some of the people Republicans have appointed to the court.

Leverage.  To extend the debt ceiling, Congress needs Trump, so he has leverage.  Kicking the can down the road 18 months causes him to surrender that leverage to Ryan/McConnell.

He can now use his leverage to obtain some of the stuff he wants in December.  As part of that leverage, he can even force a gov't shutdown and expose RINOs who have primaries early next year.

I guess I don't understand how the democrats have any leverage right now.  The Republicans have both the Senate and the House, and they don't need a single democrat vote to pass anything.

Having a big political fight in the midst of two hurricanes, and problems with North Korea isn't a good idea, so Trump delayed this three months.  Also, the Republicans in the House have started pushing budgets through the process, and are getting away from the decade-old continuing resolutions.  This will give Trump even more leverage as he can sign/veto a dozen or so individual budgets instead of a single CR.

We will see what happens.  Trump is following through on his promises, and I don't think he is going to screw us on amnesty.

Remember that they couldn't get amnesty passed even when Obama was president and had much stronger representation in Congress.  The American people don't want amnesty and this is one issue that led to Trump winning.

I maintain faith in Trump.

He got something for this compromise, whereas the Mccain's, Grahams, etc would have just given over everything.

I maintain that Trump will be the best thing to happen to this country since the invention of hot showers, warm blankets, and chocolate chip cookies.

Why is Trump (Head of the Republican Party) going along with them?

Do you?

In my 60 years on this earth I have never been one to "give it a rest" when any politician has pulled what I believe to be a dick move. Yes, we got Gorsuch. I hope he is a great SCJ. When I see a supposed Republican President sucking up to fucking Nancy and Chucky it burns my ass. It should yours also. Fuck Trump for that move. You folks can go on with your blind devotion god emperor shit. Trump is going to sign a DACA bill. The Democrats he is, and has, through his life been best buds with, are not going to give him shit. This is going to go from MAGA to MTMA (Make Texas Mexico Again). There will be a shitload of posters here telling you how that was the best deal ever. Thirteenth dimensional fucking solitaire my ass.

Because the Republicans have fucked him over multiple times now so he is showing that he will work with democrats if they don't start getting their shit together?

To what end? To accomplish what?

What legislation beneficial to America is any Democrat of any stripe going to author and/or sign on to?

ETA: The leap to this extreme of a "solution", when there are any number of other arguably better ones readily available to Trump, reminds me of the Bear Grylls memes...

ETA2: Better pic!

What does "comprehensive immigration reform" mean to Trump vs what it means to rinos and dems?

He didn't specify what he meant did he?

So are you projecting your own bias?

Could you imagine the heads exploding if Cuck Trump took it up the ass from Justin Trudeau like he did Pelosi and Schumer?  Wonder if he'd have as big of a smile as he did when Pelosi/Schumer got done Eiffel Towering him.

Edit that was supposed to be in response to TT.  Opps, just pretend your Canadian for a min.
