Tons of good guys leaving the game this season too.
Wright, VMart, Pence. Probably Beltre and Mauer. It's possible we don't see CC, Colon, and King Felix next year either. Of the 4 teams named by the MLBPA for "tanking" (MIA, PIT, OAK, TB) 3 have finished with a winning record. 1 is in the playoffs. For the first time ever, there will be 2 Game 163's in the same season. For the first time ever, there was more Ks than hits. This was a weird season. |

At least the Bucs went out on a high note. Fourth time since 1992 they've had a winning season! We lied, stole, cheated, and bribed our way to the middle. Just ask Steve! It was a good year. I got to make it to the Jake, met Spent_Casing, got under Steve's skin, came out as a Red Sox fan, spent a lot of hours watching grown men play a two hundred year old kid's game and discuss it at length with other grown men, spread the joy that is Pepperoni Rolls to other people. All in all, it was a fine season. Now comes a month of playoffs, the World Series, and then three and a half months of waiting for our team's Truck Day to let us know that winter is almost over. View Quote Im alrready looking forward to going to PNC next year. Dont be surprised if I show up in a Joey Cora jersey. Im serious. |

Beltre hasn’t announced anything, but it sure felt like a going away party.
I hope not because he has a couple of top notch years left. Maybe at DH, but he can still play at a high level. |

If the Cubs handled their business the Brewers would not of tied them. The Cub fans tears and gnashing teeth is a bonus. Brewers went from crap to playoffs in 1.5 years. So much for the usual 3-5 year rebuilding after selling off 95% of the team for prospects. Any wins in the post season is icing on the cake for Brewer fans at this point, we're even getting a home playoff game no matter what happens tomorrow.

If he could get on base more often Billy Hamilton would be a shoo-in for most stolen bases ans XBHs. If he can get a ball in play it's an almost guaranteed stolen base coming and I see him routinely turn outfield singles into triples. He's got some serious wheels on him. It's too bad he's wasted being exiled in CIN. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:
