WCS now offers their billet covers to captured in 462 and 500i, but mine is the older non captured

I must say that the captured bar nuts are very nice.
I lost a nut on my old saw years ago in tall dry grass as I was untangling the chain that had come off. I must have spent 20 minutes looking for that damn nut. After that I had a spare on hand. |

Pic heavy:
Some pics showing air filter cover mods (holes/slots) you can compare to your 500i factory cover if you like. The red silicone membrane, cut gaskets, seals off much better than single factory foam gasket and makes the cover know click in firm. I was running a thin non-oiled foam pre filter and as you can see, plenty of dust still got in the outer pleats but inner side pleats are clean. I use heavy red grease on the filter rubber where it slides on to the air filter housing. Removing all of this for the after market WCS system that I posted before. Trying to get caught up on all my bs projects today. Happy chainsaw day and cut safe.            |

After I bought this house I cut them all down, except that one by the barrel because it was leaning over the building (it’s down now  ). I do still battle left over roots sprouting new trees (I didn’t stump treat on the first several I cut). I bet I cut down 8-10 of them that were 12”-20” diameter.I generally keep poplar In the mix, as it does burn hot and clean but fast. I’ve also got several 30+” red oaks down in the woods that will be processed before the poplar |

Is a .43 gauge picco bar too small for my Stihl 025? Was looking for a 16” .50 narrow kerf set up to replace my 18” .63 rollomatic, but it seems maybe the .43 size is more common?
I have a Makita 6100 so just trying to upgrade my little saw a bit |

What I use mine for. Always big limbs in a pecan orchard. Tough wood if it dries out. This morning’s work.
