I finally had time to watch last weeks episode last night. Didn't watch Athelstan's Journal because it was pretty late by that point.
Judith getting her ear cut off and then the King putting on his big drama show was fucked up. That king is a conniving bastard. The actor that plays his son looks like a budget version of Chris Pratt. I think Athelstan put in some time in the gym before his prayer sequence prior to his death. Dude was cut. Ragnar carrying him up the hillside and saying goodbye was probably the most moving scene in the entire show. I'm sad to see him leave, tragic he had mentioned not having kids in the episode prior and then his son is born without his knowledge. Fuckin Floki, man. |

Honestly, Ragnar is mind fucking Floki. I was hoping Floki would take an axe to the skull!! But it might work out better this way. Breaking a mans ego and will is much more satisfying than just offing him. Our King of Wessex friend is also messed up in the head. I finally got to see the last two episodes. I agree that the scene where Ragnar buried Atheltan was the best acting and best scene in the series. Floki will get to live until Ragnar kisses him on the forehead. He always kisses on the forehead before killing. He even kissed the mouse before he fed it to the snake.
With Athelstan dead, Ragnar now has no one around him he trusts. I think that King Ecbert will be sad to see him dead. Athelstan's son must be Alfred the Great. Bjorn's wife still looks pretty good. Even with her scarred face. I |
