An old Captain once told me, "oh" is a term of pleasure or delight, "zero" is a number.

Try telling an IVR your phone number if it has an "oh" in it.
I rofld at my dad for 15 minutes when he got frustrated at an IVR after he repeated his number like 7 times and hung up. Each time he repeated his number I kept telling him that "oh" isn't a number and it needs him to say "zero". Hes got 2 PhDs, lol. |

Quoted: It's zero. 'Oh' is a letter. While I'm at it, they're called decimals -- not 'points.' Kthx. View Quote Decimals are digits. Decimal points are separators. If you’re going to call people out, get it right and it depends on where you are. Commas are used in Europe to separate decimal fractions from the integer values, and periods are used to separate the thousands. |

It's about time we finally addressed this. I'm not putting up with mispronouncing calibers any more! Next time I need deer hunting ammo I will be approaching the proprietor of the LGS and saying, "Good day to you sir. Would you happen to have any ammunition in three-hundred-eight-thousanths? I would also like a box of twenty-seven-hundreths, if you please."
This is how we will begin to put the "civil" back in "civil unrest " |
