I never rucked until the other night, got a nice blister for my efforts. DK-Prof came with a busted knee and we all had a great time.

It's great pushing your limits, testing your gear, getting back in shape, and meeting new folks. From one ruck alone I discovered huge issues with my gear that I would not have found otherwise.

We have tried to get somewhat more organized with our little gang of miscreants. People have lives and other obligations, it can be tough.

My advice (FWIW), keep it loose and informal. Just say "hey y'all Friday night at 2000hrs behind the Wendy's dumpster" and whoever shows up, shows up.

Feel the same down here in Hampton Roads. Not driving to NOVA to play with trains and eat imitation crab meat. Rather do that local.

To be clear the training tge mentioned was a rifle and pistol class. It wasn't a hike like what the Op mentioned.

However since he put my name on blast

I've received several IMs and mentions in this thread with people being interested. let me see if I can try to organize something somewhere. Perhaps Lake Ray Roberts. I might wait until after the holidays given that everyone is probably pretty busy between now and then. That will give me some time to organize an event.

Exactly. There is nothing secure about the Team forum.

Also, there are lots of good guys on the Federal payroll. Some of them may even be posting in this thread.

This pretty much describes every event I've ever tried to organize (gun or not) in NTX. Including beer drinking events. But it's usually worth it... just a lot of time involved.
