Theres mushrooms out there that will murder death kill you within a day that mimic the safe one.
Mushrooms are out to kill you. Dont take the chance homie |

I consulted with my mushroom expert. They said the first one may be Chanterelles(edible) but they were way past their prime and wouldn’t taste good. Wasn’t sure about the second but it too was past it’s prime.

With mushrooms, a good rule of thumb is if you have to ask "do these look edible," they aren't.

This place can't ID a venomous snake and you're asking about mushrooms? Don't eat them.

Just mix them all together with some olive oil and sea salt.
Serve out in the open in Kenosha in front of the court house with the protesters. Take notes on which people survive. |

I’ve seen two quotes from college professors that are SMEs on mushrooms in the south. Both said they don’t feel safe eating any southern mushrooms because the poisonous ones are too similar in appearance to edible mushrooms.

A census taker once told me about those mushrooms. They go very well with fava beans and a nice chianti.

The horse hoofs are hard as a rock... I hit the trails w/ my friend who picks certain ones a long the way, I still cant recognize the good ones.

I've always wondered how early man figured out which shrooms were safe to eat.
Trial and error just doesn't cut it because I think after the first error there would be no more trials. I'd never eat a shroom after watching a tribemate have his liver turned into goo by one. |

View Quote There are some like that for sure, most of the pros around here will avoid anything in the Amanita family because the 'tells' between painful death and tasty versions are more squeeze than the juice is worth. That said, we stick to the easily identifiable and safe. Black Trumpets, hen/chicken of the woods, chantarelles, lions mane. |

You can eat damn near anything, whether or not it is poisonous would be the question to ask, unless you want to take a trip from reality.

My dog has eaten random white mushrooms in the yard and is still alive.

God or somebody wraps the edible ones in plastic just so we know.

I hate these threads. Read up on mycology, buy a mushroom guide, and learn to take a spore print.

I love me some mushrooms but I don't fuck around.
@sywagon may have some insight |

If you do try them, start off easy and watch for a reaction. Even edible mushrooms can make ya sick. Regardless, none of those are worth eating, even if they are edible, which I’m pretty sure they are not.

Quoted: Good ones for what? Ya can't eat those things can you? View Quote Good ones as in good edible mushrooms. Not the horse hoof, I dont think they are edible. Ive seen him pick the coral & last week he grabbed these bright yellow mushrooms... Attached File Chanterelle, I believe is the name... |

The only person I trust to pick mushrooms for me is the Jolly Green Giant. I do not pick my own.

I'm glad I hate mushrooms, I don't have to worry about which ones are deadly
|
|
Its been a great year for them in my AO. I have never seen so many & different species... I really wish I had more knowledge on the subject. My buddy is in heaven, lots of fungus among us

Not much fun when the pictures suck, but those are not chanterelles. Way too fibrillose etc..
Quoted: I love me some mushrooms but I don't fuck around. @sywagon may have some insight View Quote Best guess would be Lentinus citrinus for the first one (Ganoderma is correct for the polypore). Third pic might be Stereum but I can't see crap. Don't eat them OP, it is just a guess without seeing the gills etc. in focus. |

You know, my first wife died from a poison mushroom. My second wife died from a poison mushroom. My third wife died from a fractured skull. Woman wouldn't eat the poison mushroom!

Of course it's edible. Whether or not you will die afterwards is a completely different question.

As Sir Terry Pratchett wrote "All mushrooms are edible - once."
