Meet the US Army Field Band’s resident rappers |
“Riddick and Feemster auditioned to serve in this capacity with the band in 2021 before completing basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, according to Coffee or Die Magazine.”
How are they SSGs already? |
only the army would be low class enough to take rappers to the Edinburg Tattoo
I only got one question for them
Tupac Or Biggie It says a lot about a man |
The next time a war is kicked off, we're going to get some fire drill tracks out of it.

I think it’s pretty pathetic. I don’t like rap, but they don’t seem good at it. I suppose it would appeal to a lot more folk’s getting into the army than music I like. They have had bands for years. I would guess they changed with the times

View Quote I think all band people are automatically SSGs after they complete their AIT. |

Personnel are promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6) two months after completion of Basic Combat Training." https://www.usarmyband.com/vacancies Cus the band promotes quickly. Aside from these two guys, they're all professional level musicians and are compensated for their unique skill. |

Well I've certainly seen dumber recruiting strategies. Makes sense for certain aspects
Navy’s had a country/ bluegrass band for decades so why not Army rap?

View Quote I think the band directly enlists as E6/SSG. But, just like the national guard, you subtract two ranks from what they're wearing and treat them accordingly. |

Quoted: Navy’s had a country/ bluegrass band for decades so why not Army rap? View Quote Agree. And there have been service "rock" bands as well, for outreach. Once you decide to have full time entertainers in the service, why not appeal to different audiences? Plus, recruiting is brutal right now and this seems fairly harmless. They seem like two squared away articulate young men...and they joined the Army instead of burning down cities, like spoiled antifa punks. I'd bet the message of their lyrics is also fairly positive. |

Quoted: It's well past time to reign in the NCO Corpse and reintroduce Soft Skill MOS's to the King of the SPC mafia: https://i.ibb.co/RC0k0xt/spc-7.jpgg View Quote Spec 7?! I've heard legends, but never saw one outside of captivity. From what I understand, they were such masters of the sham that even CW5's doubted they really existed. |

Do they get a Purple Heart for stuttering during a rap battle?

Last time I was in Germany, I visited many of the small hotel owners where we stayed while stationed there. One small (as in rural) town had a festival in the town square and the hotel owner invited us to join him and stated that the US Army Band will be there and they’re always great.
Guess what the Army Band decided to do? Yep, a bunch of rap crap and hip hop. And it was: People actually walked out on them. |

Embarrassing. No military service here, but I have attended The Royal Tournament in London, where I left feeling "less-woke."
On the face of it, pretty cringe.
But it's not the big army, it's the music/band specialty units. Music is inherently expressive and tied to culture, so this is artists that happen to be in the army doing their musical thing. |
America has been going to hell at the Edinburgh Tattoo for a while now.
Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2022: US Army Field Band:- Lamar Riddick & Nicholas Feemster part I Just secede from this country even if its in your own mind. My country died at some point. This is just a demon wearing its skin suit. |
It seems other music genres are represented the same way in the Army, so I have no issue with it.
I hired you people to kill commies, not to jump around like a bunch of Kansas City faggots.
