Arizona. He's also doing God's work there. |

Listen... driving is hard for some people and that JBT was just stomping all over that guy being all mellow in the left lane.

OP has now started a thread with a video I posted on facebook 3 days ago.
|
|
I spend the summer and fall going up north to prep for hunting and then actually hunting, about 200 miles each way. The left lane is always clogged by overweight, bald, white-goatteed boomers in their Ram/Silverado/F-150 doing 5 over while a mile of cars backs up behind them.
I go fast, so I’m always coming up on people in the left lane. Cars seem to move, but a boomer truck will camp the whole time while everyone pours around them on the left side. Boomer trucks are bad enough but if you have a toy hauler you have no business being in the left lane on the highway. |
|
The video was showing him in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway, not the left lane.
According to the video, the cop was wrong. |

|
So does the left lane have a higher speed limit than the right lane?
|
|
Sure wish there was a lot more of that nationwide. Fuck left lane campers! They should be sent to FEMA re-education camps. Nobody wants to hear your bullshit about how you're doing the speed limit. Fuck you.

Quoted: So does the left lane have a higher speed limit than the right lane? View Quote Sounds like of you camp in it all day backing up traffic you deserve to get pulled over and yelled at too. May he take a half hour to run the information for warrants and help drive the point home on what it must feel like to have some place to be or something more important to be doing, to be at the mercy of some smug asshole on a power trip. |

Keep up with the flow of traffic and do not impede the flow of traffic. Everybody in Cali had been taught this. In Idaho it's just the opposite, how can we impede or slow the flow of traffic or cause a distraction. Different mindset.

Leave plenty of room for the lane splitting speed runners. They have a right to the road too.

I hate left lane bandits with a deep passion. That being said, fuck that cop. How about he fucks off and finds some human traffickers or murderers instead? Hmmm?

Everyone hates left lane campers until a JBT does something about a left lane camper.

Every state needs a law about camping. One thing I loved about Spain. I could be doing 30 over and the cops were fine as long as I wasn't just cruising in the left lane.

When Mark sees these Arfcom GD posts about him or PCSO it takes all his self discipline not to respond in the thread.

I like Mark Lamb. However the was he describes the statute is incorrect. Actually there are 2 title 28 statutes at play: driving in right side of roadway and impeding traffic.
The first statute only means that you can’t drive left of the centerline of the roadway except to pass. It does not mean you can’t drive in the left lane that is already on the right side of the centerline. Impeding traffic means that if you have 5 or more vehicles behind you you need to pull over to let them pass. AZ does not have a law that prohibits left lane camping. However there are often posted signs on roadways that say “keep right, except to pass”. As long as no sign is present you can legally camp in the left lane. The stretch of roadway this video was filmed on does have these signs. Violation of these sign is a separate statute under failing to obey a traffic control device. |

Florida is working to fix the problem. Camp in the woods, not the left lane.

|
Quoted: Point stands. Cop is full if shit, as most are. View Quote He can only pull one person over at a time. Left lane camper is doing the single most disruptive and dangerous thing of any of those drivers. So no, he's not full of shit. He's actually being reasonable. Left lane camping is illegal where posted (which is pretty much all multilane highways like that one) and I suspect it is illegal in Arizona, too. |
|
Quoted: So does the left lane have a higher speed limit than the right lane? View Quote What is with this fixation on the speed limit? What does the speed limit have to do with it? You. Don't. Go. In. The. Left. Lane. Unless. You're. Passing. Where are you people all getting speed limits from? Are you passing as you're doing the speed limit? No? Then get the fuck out of the left lane. It's quite simple. The idiot in the video clearly wasn't passing. Good stop and I wouldn't even be mad if the cop P.I.T.ed his ass off the road first. Learn to drive or take the bus. |

I suspect he didn't write a ticket and doubt you can be written a ticket for failing to speed.

I pass on the right after a few seconds following on the left, lots of clueless idiots out there. And passing them on the inside doesn't wake them up, they still don't move over after me and several other folks have passed them.

A simple solution that I'd love to see implemented is have a mildly annoying rumble strip in the left lane. The NPCs with double digit IQs will naturally herd themselves into the right lane due to the mild annoyance. It doesn't even have to be the entire length of the left lane. Maybe every 30 seconds make it rumble enough for a few seconds to trigger their lizard brain into moving out of the fucking way.

In WV a few years back we had a delegate introduce a bill to make left lane camping a misdemeanor. Unfortunately it didn't go anywhere.
It's well known that troopers will pull people for it because the campers are typically from out of state. |
