Just saw the plane go down here in Dallas, the CAF's Texas Raiders B-17. Very sad. Mid air collision with a P-63.

No survivors. No one survived that. Prayers to all. Magnificent people I am sure and Texas Raiders was a real special plane as well.

A P-51 clipped the B-17 is how it happened. Shocking to see.

Naval Air Station Kingsville, Tx late 90’s, watched a jet (F4 Phantom I think) nose dive straight into a farmers field.
Nothing left of the pilot but a boot with his foot still inside. |

Looks like all fatalities. I hope there weren't many people on the B17. |

The whole thing was shocking including a really large explosion. Really dumbfounded right now looking at it in person. Just awful.

The current total of surviving B-17 bombers located in the United States stands at 40: Nine (9) B-17 planes are airworthy, such as "Texas Raiders", "Sentimental Journey" and "Aluminum Overcast".
