Just watched. Thought it was pretty good. There was some sjw stuff in there but not terrible, and easily ignored. One of the better movies I've seen in a while, definitely beats the recent marvel blockbusters that I've seen.
I don't follow celebrity gossip, so don't really have any complaints about what will smith does off screen. |

I liked it. I'm not a big Fresh Prince fan, maybe they could have cast the Mexican dude who always plays the Mexican-side-kick as Daryl Ward.
And... If it was intended as a SJW parable, the writers did a poor job of SJWing. 'Cause if the Elves are "white people," well shit; the Elves really are smarter, more physically capable and (almost) the exclusive magic users. If that's your parable, than fuck, I guess whitey is the master race. |

My wife and I just finished watching it and we really enjoyed it. I'd love to see this become a series.

Wasn't that ball-gargler and his crack smoking wife going to move to France, since that socialist utopia was so wonderful without Trump, with its 75-something percent tax rate?
Fuck that smarmy fuck. I hope he had to suck of Weinstein at some point in his career to get where he's at. |

It was good. I'm not going to buy in on Blu Ray, but I might watch it again. |

When both complain about the politics of the show going against their sense of PC, I figure the writers just might be on to something worth watching. Seems to be the case with this one. |

I said as much in a previous thread. He's likely already had his kiss the ring moment and has embraced the evil's of hollywood. But so has everyone else that is just as or more famous than he is. If it makes you and everyone else who seems offended by his presence in this move feel better. Just realize this is likely a huge step down for him. He's well into his decline as an actor. If an when this becomes a series he'll be lucky to maintain his role in it. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

That’s not exactly a sign his career is going places. He’s used up, and he knows it. Best to play the charming wise cracker people love him for, when he can, and then shut the fuck up. |

Netflix spent $100 million on the movie, so I doubt if Will Smith took much of a pay cut to play the part. Netflix and amazon are putting out some of the best TV shows in recent years, and clearly they intend to compete on movies too. I don’t think that starring in a “Made for Netflix” movie is going to be bad for anybody.

Look, they made a Shadowrun movie and didn't pay a dime for the rights. View Quote This genre is now referred to as Magic Realism. There's a shitload of fiction out there for it. Now...to go against GD, Bright was an exceptionally well done flick. Great acting all around, and a pretty kick-ass soundtrack. My whole family loved it. The elves vs orcs wealth/power/treatment split is straight out of any scifi novel that includes elves and orcs living together. Kharn View Quote The only obvious problem I saw with the movie...and maybe I'm wrong here... Click To View Spoiler There is no way in hell that Elves and Humans would ever co-exist, given how much more powerful Elves are written. Sure, we tolerate Orcs, Dwarves, etc...because they're all lower than us, and we know that. No way would tolerate a Master race. IMHO, there would be war.
The SWAT unit in this movie that gets wiped out by two unarmed female Elves serves to sustain my hypothesis: No way we would be comfortable living "alongside" (under) Elf rule. If California outlaws pistols that hold more than 10 rounds because of the damage they can do, you think they're going to be comfortable with Elves? Never happen.) |

I loved it....no way it was a SJW love fest....they are going crazy and saying it has " a women problem."
Illuminati...inferni bit was...eye opening imho....surprised they brought that up given the over all content of the film. |

It was good. IDK what the critics are on about. IMO it might have had TOO much of a good thing (action). I could've had a little more delving into the setting/ characters but more than likely having 13 episodes would've turned it into a snooze fest. Probably better, and for good reason it leaves you wanting to know/see more. Anyone triggered by "SJW rhetoric" is only seeing what they want to. Some of the white cops were bad, the Indian and Korean IA guys were pieces of shit right along with the female/ Asian/ Sarg and Will Smith himself didn't even like the Orcs. O yeah, and Mexicans too. And even the Orcs understood why it was that way because they fucking deserved it for what they did and who they (most of the time) were. IMO they were not analogous for any one race of people in our real world. This was just a gangster/fantasy/ cop story that was at least different from everything else out there right now. View Quote Then the whole thing falls apart. Black guys AND white guys all hate orcs AND hate elves. Everybody hates the fucking pixies. Orcs have a valid reason to be hated, Orc Lives Matter is an obvious snark. Then we get the crazy white guy with the sword who turns out to be Spoilers....... A good guy and part of an organization dedicated to throwing down the Dark Lord just like they did the last time he showed up. And HE hates the feds. And don't forget that the whole reason Jakoby was a cop was that his own people hated him as much or more than the humans. Overall, while the SJW shit did make an appearance at the beginning, I think the movie redeemed itself. It's a shame that Smith is who he is. OTOH, I feel the same about Denzel Washington and for the same reason, although his transgressions were far further in the past. I also watch Joss Whedon movies and series in spite of what a turd roll that guy is. |

Did you catch the line about almost all NFL linemen were Orcs?

Saw it, liked it. It’s not a classic, but easily passes the bar on “watch/don’t watch” scale. “SJW” content is no better or worse than any other Hollywood cop movie.
It’s not Shadowrun, because- no cyber. P.S it the mid nineties I was at a game store in LA when someone from Sony came in to pick up order for a stack of various Shadowrun books. At least two dozen. |

Read page 1 comments and then read page 4’s. So funny how everyone knew all about the movie and how bad it sucked on page 1 yet they kept referring to a FUTURE with rap music and elves. Posters making stuff up.
Then page 4 where people can’t believe how good it was and stuff. These people actually saw the movie. Good flick, watch it so they’ll make more like it. |

View Quote Then I read a thread like this where someone watches an entire movie about fantasy creatures living in modern day reality and somehow never caught on to this premise, thus thinking it was about aliens in the future. Makes you understand why they do that. People really are just that slow. And, they are indeed not the kind of person whose opinion about a movie has any value. |

I wanted it. Was an interesting movie, I didn't really see too much SJW shit going on unless you tried to relate orcs to minorities and elves to whites.
Personally, I took it as a take on something like: Lord of the Rings, 2000 years after Sauron. |

So Deadshot meets “Alien Nation”?
“Bright” = ghetto slang for a fellow who might have some white ancestry; a black person that doesn’t look “black enough”. |

Good movie. Kind of like a buddy cop movie blended with Lord Of the Rings characters.
