So did we ever get a firm answer as to why they sold them for a low market price?
Were they under pressure in a contract to move these quickly? I am assuming they received them, and sold them all within a matter of 2 weeks? |

How many ARFCOMers did he screw over by admittedly buying them himself using their cards to get past the limit of 2 rule? I know he screwed me over. Simple typo in check out caused me to miss a folder. Had he not bought 10 guns I would have had 1. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

So how did he know to only order two? |

It would seem that’s probably common, but I’m wondering if it’s a regulation/law or just a store policy. You could argue that maybe the person that ordered it is not eligible for the firearm and the person doing the 4473 is doing a straw purchase, but if the person that ordered it changed their mine before the transfer and someone else bought it from them while it’s at the shop, I’d the first person did the 4473, they would have to lie on question 1. Idk. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

This topic has me wondering. Is the name on the order, invoice, credit card, a legal basis for "ownership" in the sense that it would legally have to be transferred to that person on a 4473 before it could be sold or gifted? If I ordered a gun to my FFL, decided I didn't want it but my buddy did, and he paid me $500, could he go to the FFL and do the 4473 for himself? So if my wife order an firearm for me as a gift. I could not go to the FFL and do the 4473 since that was the name on the invoice for the order itself. She had to do it and then gift me the gun. I was in the shop of my favorite local Dealer when two guys came in to do the transfer of an online order. In order to get the best shipping, ONE of them had actually placed the order and paid for both guns but they wanted to transfer the guns individually since one had already reimbursed the other. The Dealer was put in a tough spot, even more so after the two tried to explain what they were doing. That's when I walked away and looked at holsters for a while |

ATF is kinda funny about the name on the 4473 being the actual "buyer" of the firearm and not just the person who takes possession. If someone placed the order online or over the phone and paid for it with their credit card then the ATF would likely consider THAT person to be the "buyer" of the firearm who is the only person it may be transferred to via the 4473. If the Dealer KNOWS (or should reasonably believe) that the person completing the 4473 is not the actual buyer, then the Dealer is obligated NOT to complete the transfer. Got both of mine picked up at lunch. Will post pics and info later tonight.

I got my folder in today. Overall it is in good shape except the front pin by the trigger guard is missing. The guard is jamb a little open.
They had a tag on it stating it needed a front pin then trigger guard and housing is broken. It don't look broken but just jammed. I will have to bring it to a shop to get checked out. What a bummer. |

This is killing me. Mine still hasn't been delivered. My FFL closes at 1700. Usually FedEx and UPS get to his place no later than 1500.
This sucks. |

mine just got delivered but he hasnt had a chance to check it in
said I can come tomorrow I CANT TAKE IT |
|
Probably because they didn’t buy one.

Just grabbed mine over lunch, you can tell this one was issued and used but not too roughly as it is in very good condition for a ~50 year old military riot gun, came with a black nylon sling so it was probably used sem-recently, a handful of small dents and dings on the top of the receiver and some scratches here and there, under the ejection port it looks like someone rubbed it with coarse steel wool and removed some of the finish, didn't see any rust but I haven't looked super close yet, action is buttery smooth. Will post pics and update the other thread with info when I get home from work.

Mines won't release it and he said he is extremely jealous........
everyone in the fun shop is a recent veteran so they were all oggling it...but they got a huge backlog to add to their log in process for the FFL so it will be tomorrow. I'm patient. |

Condition on mine is pretty typical of those pictured in the ad. Definitely used and a little rust. Going to clean it up a little and hopefully get a few rounds down range this weekend. |

Picked up my fixed stock today and holy shit am I happy. It's by far the prettiest fixed stock one I've seen posted here. Absolutely gorgeous deep blue finish, no rust or scratches even around the trigger guard and barrel. Mag extension is mint and hasn't been buggered like some people's. Wood forearm is near mint, stock itself is the only thing that shows wear. It's got a few dents and scratches but I think it'll buff out. Some residue from masking tape on the stock. The number 2 written in sharpie on the top rear directly in front of the butt pad. Cycles and functions smooth as butter. No sling unfortunately.
Barrel code CU so April of '71. SN is S37788xx I need to take some decent pics to do the bluing justice. All I can say is thanks OP! PS anyone got a line on a M7 bayonet less than $50 shipped? |

I had a factory folder many moons ago. It utterly sucked shooting. Recoil sucked, the ergos sucked, the whole thing sucked. But damn if it didn't look cool. View Quote |

Our Dept had some up until the late 90's. I've shot qualifying with one, it's diffferent but manageable. But one almost cut my thumb off once so be careful of the folding mechanism. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

They are releasing it today.....
they oggled it enough and they now want me to keep an eye peeled for good deals for them in return for free transfers and at cost for other stuff. |

My lone fixed-stock came in. It's in better shape than I was expecting after seeing photos of some of the other fixed stock models. A few dings here and there, but no rust, bluing is great, and the screws on the bayonet adapter are perfect. It's been shot but not very much. No sling, no tape, tags, or additional markings besides the ONG logo on this specimen. S/N is S394487V

Got mine today! Fixed stock....looks good overall with just enough BTDT character
S395XXXV ... barrel code KU (May 1971). Minimal remnants of a unit sticker on the stock but no information on it. Rack number 6 (or 9 I guess?) by the trigger but 1 on top of the receiver....go figure Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Thanks OP!!!! Owe you one!! |
