Apologies for the length of this video.
I will tell you the pertinent bits.  WE SAW BARBIE! Aside from all the expected stuff, and the dude playing a chick in the movie, and us expecting it to NOT be what the people who were involved with it swore it is ... It is apparently a hard pg13. In "barbie land" they talk about how they don't have genitals (ken or barbie). Barbie winds up in the real world and ... YES ... they go there. Barbie This is apparently not the only thing like this in the movie. ETA: Quoted: In the last scene, Barbie has become human and left Barbieland, she's getting a pep talk from her new friends before some kind of meeting or job and they say stuff like "You got this" and she walks into a building. The lady goes "How may I help you?" And she says something like "I would like to see my gynecologist"....implying that she really is a human now.....then the credits roll. Young kids in the screenings these people went to looking at parents and going, "Mommy, what's that?" ... apparently even one of the teens in the theater blurted out "this is a kids movie!?!?" Sounds like parents should pre-screen this one before taking their kids to see it. Pass it around. OK TOM. You said we don't pay attention. Well, here it is. Someone tried. ----------------- Now the expected stuff: Feminist: Check. Don't dare trying to take a shot every time they say patriarchy: Check. Teaching females to be manipulative, get theirs, and hate on men: check. Hate on family, hate on kids, etc: apparently check on that too. The fact that they feel like it was bait and switch surprises me - who expected anything else? FWIW - I actually enjoyed at least one of the Barbie cartoon series a few few years ago. I thought it was fan made. It was not kid inappropriate - but funny as hell to adults who grew up in the early 80's |

Dunno. Not the kind of movie I’d go see.
But I’ve watched things like Matrix and The Terminator movies with my kids when they were young. Part of a parents job is to teach the difference between movies and real life. And a parent should know their own children well enough to understand what they are and are not mature enough to handle. |

Yeah, um, it is PG-13, so I’d expect it to have PG-13 content.

I thought the movie sucked. Wife and daughters wanted to see it so I was stuck. Maybe I didn't pay attention, but I missed the Tranny Barbie, (unless it was John Cena), and Barbie was granted a wish and became a human followed by a visit to a gynecologist, no mention of bottom surgery that I recall. Is it possible they had two versions ready based on the reactions from the closed showings?
ETA: To be clear, this movie was a man bashing tour de force. In the "real world" all the men were useless chauvinist pigs, and in "Barbie" world they were all effeminate useless simps. Every last male in the movie was portrayed as being nearly mentally retarded. |

Kids aren’t stupid. They know Barbie doesn’t have a pussy. If she went to the real world, obviously this would have to be one of the first questions they address. It’s a pg13 movie, I think pg movies in the 80s had tits in them, because every movie had tits in them.
