Count of Monte Cristo is a classic.
John Wick is the best modern in a while. A History of Violence is another great pseudo-revenge movie Both of the movies listed by the OP have ending issues that kill the movie. |
|
Look up the alternate ending to Man on Fire
Creasy has an atomic butt plug that kills him and the boss. On Youtube. |
|
For those of you saying Man On Fire wasn’t a revenge flick really need to pay more attention.
Also I have never seen Count of Monte Cristo. Which version should I watch? I’m guessing most of you are talking about the 02 version because it’s the only one I can’t get free right now |

Of the options, Man On Fire Honorable mentions: The Count of Monte Cristo, Payback, Death Wish and a straight-to-Netflix movie with Kevin Bacon that I'm drawing a blank on the name of. He's an everyday dude who goes after the guys that killed his son. My only gripe is they go way overboard on how they portray him not knowing anything about guns. I'm pretty sure an adult's seen enough people load a gun in movies, and on TV that they could figure it out in real life. View Quote |

I spit on your grave. View Quote Went with Man On Fire. One of my top five favorites. Teared up the first time at the end, and I don't cry for movies. Last time was the little red dress in the wheelbarrow. Creasy Bear FTW. John Wick is up there too. Doesn't hit the feels the same way though. That one is all cheering. ETA: I disagree on the alternate ending. Creasy was ready to die from the beginning. He no longer wanted to live with the memories of things he had done. Came to believe he would never achieve redemption, but found it when he returned Pita to her mother. His soul was at piece. It was beautiful. YMMV |

Well if I can't vote for:
Death Wish John Wick Unforgiven Once Upon a Time in the West Outlaw Josey Wales The Virgin Spring Point Blank (old one) Wrath Of Khan The Crow Count of Monte Cristo Moby Dick Memento In the Bedroom Princess Bride for the Six Fingered Man lulz Revenge of the Nerds for more lulz Then I guess Man on Fire was the less shitty "Revenge" film Last House on the Left gets an honorable mention but that movie was too fucking disturbing for me |
|
Haven't seen Man on Fire. I really liked LAC and John Wick. I'm an old Death Wish fan.
I'll have to check it out. |
|
How did I escape ?.........with difficulty
How did I plan this moment ?.............with pleasure |
|
Man on Fire, he completed his masterpiece. Law Abiding Citizen was incomplete, he didn't finish his revenge.
