Quoted: Absolutely not We all paid in we deserve our money back. The government can give me all my money back with interest, and then cancel it if they want to. All joking aside I think this is a great idea. I hope everyone who has said things like the above, or supports SS gets their 401k raided to pay for SS. SS is an unconstitutional socialist welfare program for old people. It should never have existed, and should end asap. Yes a lot of people are going to get fucked myself included, but I’d rather fix it now so my kid doesn’t get fucked. Some people would rather their descendants take that fucking though. View Quote Can we postpone the fucking at least 4-5 generations? Nobody alive today will have to explain it to them what happened. |

Quoted: Why dont we just stop fucking the economy further by paying for shit for people who dont earn it, spending money we dont have and then we domt have to impose extra taxes! View Quote Agreed Anyone receiving SS didn’t earn it, and we should stop paying them. They were taxed/stolen from. It isn’t fair for the government to steal from someone else to pay them. |

Quoted: They can take my 401k out of my cold dead hands. View Quote They don’t even have to kill you. Just devalue your saved dollars. They print money now and spend it, because the new dollars are in their pocket… and the dollar in YOUR pockets just got smaller. They had nothing except ink and paper and you had a whole dollar; now they have new dollars and you have a lesser dollar. They’re stealing your 401k dollars cents at a time. And you can’t stop it. Big Gov’t don’t think inflation is bad at all so long as it doesn’t hurt them at election time… Government loves inflation because it can dip into your piggy bank using it. |

Quoted: How about do away with SS, and do a mandatory 401k that is not tied to or only available to employers. You pick a provider that you like, when you get a job you tell them which provider and your account number. That employer sends 7% of your pre tax pay check to that provider. This would spur competition for providers with the lowest fees and the highest average return. Get the gov out of retirement View Quote Forcing employers to invest money for their employees isn’t getting the government out of retirement. How about we let people do what they want, and be responsible for the consequences of their actions. If you never saved for retirement you can starve for all I care. |

Anything that keeps you from being dependent on the government, and I mean ANYTHING, they want to snuff out.

Quoted: What is your plan since you didn't like that one. Why do you think SS started to begin with? History will repeat itself all over again without a plan. Not saying that plan was perfect but at least you got to keep all YOUR money and can pass it on. We don't need the government involved in everyone's individual finances. I would end income tax too. Everything the government touches is a dumpster fire. People outlive their savings? That's an individual choice and problem. Too bad, now you get to freeze/starve to death in the gutter. No fucks given. Capitalism. |

Quoted: not nearly enough "millionaires" (on paper) to fund SS. Not even close. you could raid 25% of everyone's 401K and still not make a dent in it. Flat 21% tax is the only REAL way to tackle the issue... but poors don't love their country enough to pay for it. View Quote What if SS was abolished? What would that do to the balance sheet? I also agree some sort of tax that forces the “poors” to have skin in the game is a great idea as well. Everyone should pitch in if they want to be part of this country. No one should get a free ride. |

There is some tax benefit for upper middle class. I think I had clients who could put away about 255k a year in their retirement vehicles (that was the max of one particular retirement vehicle). In general, they were successful Dr's to be honest. But the truly wealth work with different tools.
The thing is, even if you could put away 250k every year for 20 years - that is only 5m. In this day and age - that is not rich. |

The govt. Can save $200B
Wow what a deal! How fucking much have we spent in Ukr, Iraq? I bet we've fucken spent that at least 2x over. Lying cocksucker they want to raid the 401k to fucking skim money. |

Retirement 401k and IRA programs benefit the middle class, not the rich, giving them an opportunity to have a more comfortable retirement. What they want to do is get their hands on all that sweet tax money and force people to depend on the government and social security. Lower the standard of living, tax more. Fuck them.
They say these programs cost them money. Suck my dick. It isn’t costing them money, it’s keeping OUR money in OUR hands, it isn’t their money. |

Quoted: This is 100% correct. This would fuck the middle class hard. 401k is capped at 22k-ish per year. That’s not a meaningful part of anyone rich persons retirement plan. View Quote this is 100% correct. the fact that a 401K is capped at all is criminal. if you want to live frugally and retire at 50... that's your right. not to be a slave until you are 65 |

Quoted: History repeating itself. Isn't this what the Soviet's did? The villified the Kulaks, which were the upper middle class merchants, small business owners, large farm owners, stole their wealth and killed them off. Once one tier was done, magically the next "not quite as rich but still richer than other people" were the new enemies of the proletariat, and the cycle repeats itself. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: This is total gaslighting. 401ks and IRAs tax benefits are nothing to the truly wealthy. Correct. Not even to the moderately wealthy. The contribution limits make it a middle class program. But the Left really wants to destroy the middle class, so we can expect more of that. History repeating itself. There were other measures that indicated the kulaks as not being especially prosperous. Both peasants and Soviet officials were uncertain as to who constituted a kulak; they often used the term to label anyone who had more property than was considered normal according to subjective criteria, and personal rivalries also played a part in the classification of people as enemies. Officials arbitrarily applied the definition and abused their power.[14] Conquest wrote: "The land of the landlords had been spontaneously seized by the peasantry in 1917–18. A small class of richer peasants with around fifty to eighty acres [20 to 32 ha] had then been expropriated by the Bolsheviks. Thereafter a Marxist conception of class struggle led to an almost totally imaginary class categorization being inflicted in the villages, where peasants with a couple of cows or five or six acres [about 2 ha] more than their neighbors were now being labeled 'kulaks,' and a class war against them was being declared." Sometimes as an atheist I'm disappointed that there is no Hell, for utter despair that Marx and Lenin and all their disciples deserve no less. |

It’s true that most employees don’t take enough advantage of retirement plans, but I hardly see how that should be my problem.
I also don’t see how it “saves” the government any money to eliminate retirement account tax incentives - I think what they mean is it would let the government steal more of my money. |

Some people remember the Soviet Union with its bread lines, state run industries and gulags with horror. Other people remember that time as the good ‘old days.
We now have a 100 years of genocide to show why you never let a communist into power. And what they will do when in power. Plan accordingly……. |

Pure propaganda. 401Ks benefit those who have the self-discipline to save. Half of Americans don't pay taxes. About 101.33 million people in the United States make up the inactive workforce. You want more money, get better job skills. I am far from rich but still saved a retirement nest egg. The Democrat Commies have been talking about stealing it for decades. There is no way in hell they are getting it. The economy would go down the shitter and bottom out in the stone-age first. The best thing they could do is stop giving millions of people entitlements, who have never worked.
