KFM had some scenes that were funnier than BS, but overall, comparing the movies, BS wins. KFM went too far with the Karate spoof. Ended up being over half the movie and grew tiresome.

Whether you think it's stupid or not, it more or less dates you. It was a certain kind of movie to have come out at a certain time, and reflective of what was going on back then. Either you can remember that, and it makes sense, or you don't. I watched it with my 22-year-old ex-girlfriend, she didn't get it. And she likes stuff like danger 5 and archer. View Quote |

I tried watching KFM for a while, then turned it off. Is it a coherent film or just a collection of skits?

I wonder what Marlene Dietrich thought of Madeline Kahn's parody of her in Blazing Saddles.

Plus, Mel Brooks has this undercurrent of subtle humor that other comedy films just don't do at all. There's tons of jokes in his movies that aren't put right in your face. For example, in Blazing Saddles (BS, if you will...), did you know that all the townfolk of Rock Ridge are named Johnson? View Quote |
