Old boxy Volvo with a Coyote motor in it, blow the rest of the money on tires.

You guys need to post ads in order to legitimize your suggestions, which I suspect are impossible on OPs budget. Unless, of course, they're beater cars.

Night vision, thermal, drone and suppressors if you dont already have them.
Also a light weight tent with a wood stove. My point is there are much wiser ways to spend 50k but if you gotta have a show pony get a vette |

CLS 63, ive owned exotics and muscle cars along with Audi and BMW the CLS 63 is phenomenal other than that id get a Porsche 911

Mustangs are not and never have been sports cars... and Ive owned 3.
Corvette is the logical answer. Porche maybe... Had both, vette was more comfortable, porche better for the track. |

I was a Porsche guy before having owned a 1969 911, 1984 944 and a 1997 Boxster and while I still like the 911, Cayman and Boxster still they just didn’t seem special enough to me. You see them on a regular basis and while I love the Porsche specials like the GTS, GT3, GT3RS etc they aren’t in my budget. The Alfa to me checked all the boxes. Light weight, carbon fiber tub, turbo motor etc and still felt special to me as they only brought in 1500 in combined coupes and spiders into North America. It’s raw, uncomfortable, loud, impracticable etc but it’s a car I drive when I want and because I want to drive it. View Quote VERY nice! |

Cruising around? Miata or used Boxster.
Going fast? Supra or Model 3 Performance. |

You can get a 3-4 year old luxury sport sedan for bout $35k. Have my eye on an Infinity Q50

I went with a 13 gt500. Don't regret it. Lebanon ford did a new gt plus a blower that was in your price range with a warranty.

I honestly don’t know what they sell for so maybe $50k isn’t enough…but personally I’d look for an early Dodge Viper. That was the dream car of my childhood and I still love the way they look to this day.

I would buy some other clapped out piece of shit late 60s something and spend 20k on suspension and motor and still get smoked by most of the cars mentioned so far.
And I would be perfectly content. |

Kia Stinger, plus gives you the hobby of tuning it up to 600 horsepower
Haters will hate |

OP, gonna need more info. Sports car is a broad definition. 2 door? 4 door? RWD? AWD? Forced induction or NA? 4, 6, or 8 cylinders? Start there.

Model 3 Performance if you’re looking for the fastest car for the money.
If you’re looking for something to upgrade and have fun with, used Corvette. |
|
The best Corvette you can get. Supra would be my second choice and the best M4 you can get would be my third choice.

I drive an average car.
Holy crap, even in my average car I am constantly frustrated with how much traffic there is and how slowly and stupidity everyone is driving. Cops are everywhere trying to jam you up. If I hit up the windy backroads, deer and elk constantly jump out or I hit a pheasant at 100mph and blow out my headlight. Won’t a sports car just make the frustration 1 million times worse? |

Maybe a Cadillac CTS-V. I'm not sure if it's a sport car but it's a nice ride.

Quoted: Day dreaming a little. I am 46 and a year out from a bad divorce and thinking of finally doing something for me. I have found Corvettes that are a few years old, 7-8 year old Porsche, newer Supra, Maserati few years old, and some slightly used BMWs. What suggestions does the collective wisdom of GD have? View Quote When I was buying a Mustang I went to a buddy that only ever owned Mustangs for advice. I asked him about used Mustangs. His comment was, "You've driven with me. I own Mustangs. Do you really want to own a Mustang after I'm done with it?" and that's why I bought new. |

If you find say a 997 S cabriolet, it'll be ~48-50k now, and in 5 years it'll still be 48K, but it's going to be from around 2008 or so.
If you buy a 50k corvette, mustang, bmw etc, it'll be 28k in 5 more years. |
