Got another unit. This one's a personal friend of mine who's doing his first tour in AFG as a 1LT for an infantry platoon.

So this week I've gotten two boxes chock full of troop cigars.
One box from Askonison And one from Wganz  Askonison's box is the USPS one, and the first set of pics.   WGanz is the brown box and the second set of pics.   Thanks very much guys.  ^Askonison I took your entire box, repackaged it up (added a few cigars) and am shipping it out to Prolific in South Africa. You did such a bang up job on packaging the cigars/box that it's good to go. He's been notified that they're inbound. Your box ships Monday, standby for delivery confirmation.   WGanz this is box 1 of 2 for you. This one contains the cigars you sent in the most recent box. These are going to 1LT Young in AFG who is a close friend of mine. They'll be distributed to his troops who are forward deployed on the pointy end of things. This one ships Monday as well. Stand by for delivery confirmation. This box is 100% cigars/packing, medium flat rate.   WGanz this is box 2 of 2 for you. This one's going to PluckMaster who will be distributing the cigars/supplies pictured to troops in AFG for us. This box contains the contents of your first big box of cigars + some of the leftovers from the previous pass and magazines. This one ships Monday, standby for delivery confirmation. This box is a chock full medium flat rate. This is getting out of hand  |

Update: Prolific's cigars have landed. Got a small flood of emails of thanks today. I've redacted names/contact info, however if Prolific wants to post those up (keeping OPSEC in mind) he's more than welcome.
A friend of mine received some cigars from you which he shared with a few of us. I just wanted to extend my gratitude back to you and let you know that your kindness is very much appreciated. Nothing like having a good quality smoke in the evening. Take care and thank you again. Sir, I am writing you to thank you for the cigars that you sent MSgt **** (Prolific), he has shared them with all of us who work with him out here. Sometimes it is the little things that make us feel the comforts of home, and we do appreciate your support. Thank you again for your generosity, we'll be enjoying your gifts. WGanz's box has landed. Here's the email I received from PluckMaster. I've had to redact a bit of info for OPSEC reasons.
Brad, received the cigars today (1st Nov). Thank you so much, as you can see I've moved to FOB ****. This place is right on the Pakistan border and a little more in the mix than ******. They call ****** "Rocket City" and it has a "Rocket City cigar club", basically a BS and unwind section every Sunday evening. I will ensure that the cigars are distributed as per you request, the tooth paste is a god send as the PX has none. At least three people will have minty breath now!, I'll write a hand written thank you as emails are a little in personnel. I'm sure I'll get stampeded as I hand out the cigars, On behalf of all of the cigar smokers at FOB ****** THANK YOU. It is warming to know that people have us in their thoughts back home. Alright, game on.
PluckMaster requested toothpaste and pipe tobacco. Can do:   Base layer is comprised of about 14 boxes of toothpaste, most of which were left over from the last troop pass. Stuffed between those are toothbrushes, also from the last pass. To pad the toiletries is about 3.5#'s of pipe tobacco generously donated by Tim, the owner of The Hill Cigar Company in St. Louis, MO.    Prolific requested nothing but pipe tobacco and cigars, so guess what he's getting. The bottom layer is all tobacco donated by Hill Cigar Co. Sandwiched between are a few leftovers from the last pass, plus cigars donated by the patrons of the Hill Cigar Co. Both boxes are large flat rate USPS boxes and are chock completely full. Hopefully these will get a smile or two when they're opened. |
