Bought the bowie out of curousity. we've been bangit it arount at work. Pretty sturdy and takes an edge fairly quickly. The grip angle is a little wonky, bu tthats the only complaint. Would buy the survival or hunter without hesitation.

My Recon I tanto blade knife just got here. I bought it for a good price at Amazon, but may buy next one direct. It's got a smooth action, positive locking mechanism and a handle that fits nicely on my palm. I didn't realize though, that it's a bit beefy. I like it so far and will swap it for my EDC. I normally carry a Gerber skeletal clippoint. Here a decent look at the Recon I.

Another Oregon based company.

I swapped over from benchmade a few years ago when benchmade started outsourcing to china.

My last 5 daily carry knives have been Kershaw.   Current one is a push button auto.

Cold Steel and folders? I haven't looked lately, but they had a whole bunch last time I bought one.
My EDC for 20+ years is an XL Voyager clip point.
ETA: maybe 30 years.

I was thinking if the knife itself is good the handles were just begging for a para cord wrap.

It’s tip up carry and it rides deep in my pocket, the lanyard helps me find it easier... especially when your duty belt gets in the way.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't think of orientation as a factor. I noticed it didn't have the "xsafety" button, so it can't be locked in closed position. Interesting.

I prefer tip up carry, but I use the pocket clip. I don't have to change my grip when drawing the knife..

That dude seems like a total whacko... but in a good way. “It’s my fucking company- I want to have videos of myself hacking at meat with a fucking sword on my website.”

I hoist my beer in his general direction.
But he's a pro--gun wacko. Nows the time for solidarity, not to be divisive.

Check out his African hunt video where the Water Buffalo shrugs off his spear. Lynn cooly and quickly pulls out his magnum and lays that buffalo out while it is charging him from close distance. Dude clanks when he walks.

Not a Cape Buffalo. More like a carabao or water buffalo. Like killing an ox.

I'm not that bad.

But if I see something I like on GD, I'll add it to my Amazon list. Often those get moved to cart after a few beers.

There was a funny thread in Team where a guys wife was on ambien and ordered a shower curtain which featured Jeff Goldblum and Harambe.
