It's surprisingly cheap. Been thinking about picking some up!

I can see a stacks and runs of concertina wire out my window right now. Looks shiny

I bought a bunch off the EE many years ago. My advice, get the best gloves you can find to handle it

Eh, C-wire is just annoying.
What you want is razor wire. You need chain mail gloves to handle razor wire. We did not have chainmail gloves. |

View Quote Always thought it'd be kinda neat to try to replicate those concertina trap things from Rainbow 6 as impromptu defenses I mean you're sure as hell not walking through an exploded roll of razor wire thrown down a hallway. At worst it'd just be some badass mall ninja shit |

I thought razor wire was just a different name for concertina wire View Quote One pokes, the other slices. Either should work for area denial, but you can make it through C-wire eventually. |

Seen HMMWVs buried in roll after roll of that shit at JRTC. OPFOR will string it right across the roads, 7+ strand deep to jack up vehicles driving under NVGs at night.

Popped up in a Craigslist ad when I was looking for fencing.
I thought it would make nice Christmas decorations. https://www.repurposedmaterialsinc.com/razor-wire/ |

I was escorting an MTVRfull of troops off of route Mobile into Ramadi, and we had to drive through a blacked out ECP. He was right behind me, but somehow ended up in the ditch and wound a huge strand of wire around his tire and axle. There were several pickets in the engine compartment. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/86695/P5140083_JPG-1290761.jpg https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/86695/P5140092_JPG-1290762.jpg View Quote How long did that take to fix? |

We spent 20-30 minutes on it with bolt cutters, until someone from the owner's command showed up to take custody, then we bailed. It was about 2/3 free at that point.
It was supposed to be a five minute turnaround max, with the rest of my team waiting out on the highway. |

“A captured VC sapper reported: 'You had lots of wire around Polei Kleng but it was easy to get through. I just don't think you have a defensive barrier that is effective against us.' At Hue, a spearheading sapper company formed four 10-man teams equipped with two B40 and one 1341 rocket launchers as well as AK and CKZ rifles with 200 rounds of ammunition. Each sapper also carried 20 explosive charges to breach fortified defences. Nearly naked, to avoid tangling in wire, a former VC sapper demonstrates infiltration technique.” http://www.fototime.com/BCF9229F9C7C8C5/orig.gif View Quote Concertina/Razor wire is a force multiplier that is incredibly effective given its simplicity- provided you have it covered with direct fire weapon systems. The benefit is allowing a much, much smaller unit the ability to effectively cover a much larger front while funneling the enemy towards your desired engagement areas. Simply throwing up wire is never enough. |

Are there any legal issues with deploying this on private property?

I've got 10 rolls, because why not. I need some of those red triangle "mines" signs now.

I used to install quite a bit of both at the fence company..the normal wire is childs play, the razor wire is a bitch. Don't care what you wear, by the time you are done, you are going to have at least 2 cuts from it. Easiest way to handle it is with the proper gloves and a good set of fence pliers.

I ordered 20 rolls on Amazon to secure house against Corona zombies.

They made use carry a couple roles on the back of our tanks, draped over the tail lights and wired to the rear engine grill and release pin for fender
The wire would break and the next thing you knew, it rotated down and into the tracks (it happened so often we would remove the 4 rear skirts BEFORE going to the field) |
