I like my Bourbon bit sometimes I like to change it up. Crown Royal is a good line of Whiskey, I  like their rye bit it needs to breath some before you drink it. The regular and black is very nice but the XO is exquisite!

CR probably got America through the '60s and "70s.  It used to be very popular.

They have great marketing. I like Crown but, to me, it's not as good as it is popular.

Last night, and likely tonight, it'll be Captain Morgans and cokes for me. Need a break from the beer and Woodford reserve.

It's still the most popular 'call drink' in Texas. 'Crown and coke' is a staple around these parts.

That’s because bourbon tastes like burnt assholes.

The Navy base I drill at goes through SO MUCH crown, they get an even better volume deal that other military exchanges, $39 a handle.

Meh, gives me a headache. Comparing it to Bourbon is like comparing a Timex to a Rolex.
Both tell time and end in "ex", but that is about where any comparison ends.

The only one I like is the CR Maple Finished. Now that actually tastes smooth and a little thicker, compared to all the other Crown Royal whisky blends, that have a watery consistency. I don't drink very much, just a little bit if I catch a cold or core throat. I have a 750 mL bottle that I bought about 11 years ago. There is still about 1/3 of the bottle left. That should last me another 5 years.

Try Captain and 7up.

Just as good but with a more "Cream Soda" smell.

It's my favorite drink lately.

Crown royal black is close to bourbon.  Its finished in bourbon barrels.  Nice stuff.

Crown is a Giffen whiskey. The poorer you are, the more you're likely to buy it.

I mean, I get it. I've been poor and drank cheap whiskey. But, if you want bourbon and you're drinking Crown, you're either poor or confused.

Too sweet for me.

And now there’s the stupid Crown Royal Bourbon Mash. No. Just no. You are not a bourbon. Bourbons are 100% American.

But hey, they have a bitchin’ tent at the HSLR Cook Off, so I can’t complain too much.

Crown is too sweet for my taste.

I drink my spirits straight of over an ice cube. Nothing gets between me and the true taste of the liquor that way.

The maple finished CR reminds me of 1970's cough medicine.

Crown Royal alone is a joke; it makes a fine well drink with coke or ginger ale if one drinks such cocktails.

Try to find some single barrel. The store has to purchase their own barrel and that gets bottled. It's excellent if they taste and choose a good barrel.

I disagree with that. I've been poor and Crown was my have a little extra money and you want something nice bottle of whiskey.

For a good, cheap bourbon I've always liked Henry McKenna.
