Who pulls a boat literally 400 miles in a day for a day on the lake? View Quote I don't know about other areas of the country but in MI it's no big deal for folks to tow their boat or 5th wheel or even tow a 5th wheel that's towing a small boat from the population centers in southern MI to vacation country in northern MI. How's this thing do in 10 deg. F weather towing a trailer with four snowmobiles from S MI to the UP for a weekend of sledding? Not well I suspect. But I have plenty of friends who do this with their diesel or gas trucks. |

Great way to convince dumb people to buy your product. Excellent selection strategy, almost as if it is by design.

Whoops, didn’t realize I was posting in a Pony thread.
Electric cars are stupid. |

The Rivian looks gay. The Tesla looks like it was designed by an 8 year old in 1982.
The Atlis looks badass. |

Is this like when the Toyota was using a V8 4x4 crew cab to pull V6 2x4 single cab domestic trucks to prove how great the Tundra was?

How many 5 gallon Jerry cans of electricity does the AzTruck need to make it 700 miles?

GJ, wait till the batteries fail and you have to pay thousands to replace them. I'll stick with the F150.

Niiiiiice. Car of the future. Now make all the Tesla cars look 8bit. Still better looking than an Aztec, a Juke, or those Jeep Cherokees with the long front end. I'd take a Tesla 8bit I've one of those any day. View Quote |

Downscale locomotive tech and you'd own the towing world. Completely battery powered. Range up to like ~200 miles at 45000lbs. Range extenders with either a 4.5L or 6.7L engine, at 75000lbs. Optional solar panels for dedicated trailers. This is the shell CNG/electric hybrid I believe. Might be diesel option now too. Same idea. Generator powered. |

Not really. They've partnered with Rivian IIRC (which has a slick looking product) so there could be some sharing going on there. https://www.teslarati.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/rivian-r1t-test-mule.jpg I'm saying though that if they try to shoehorn an EV drivetrain/battery into an F-150 frame that it will be a sub-optimal EV. If they don't, then it won't have much of the cost savings. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The F150 would require fuel and oxygen to be sent with it. The Tesla can be recharged with solar panels or better yet a nuclear reactor. Every off world vehicle ever made, manned and unmanned, has been electric driven. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

About as dumb as pulling train cars down a track...
Not a competition of torque or power or anything else. Just the friction of the drive wheels. |

Years ago I used to say "it's not a truck if it can't carry a sheet of plywood". The short beds put an end to that utilitarian aspect of trucks. To look at the Tesla offering and call it a truck takes a lot of liberty with the word.

We all know that if the F150 was dragging the Tesla around in a truck pull, it would instantly be important.
I know I'm spending 440 dollars a month in fuel. Jumping to electric is sounding better and better. |

How's the Tesla do over range towing a heavy trailer up hills, being refilled and continuing on?
