Only coverage other than ARFCOM was a little snippet on the Weather Channel. It is on FOX news online. The problem is the fools do not understand the picture they are looking at is the primary spillway and it is being torn apart badly. They do not appear to have an actual image of the emergency spillway. |

So that transmission tower at riverside where the espillway dumps in...disappeared overnight? It doesn't look like it washed away, so there may be another explanation. Since the flow moved away from that tower late yesterday it may have been safe enough at daybreak for a crew to go cut it loose and have a chopper fly it out. I understand that was planned for yesterday but they ran out of time before the Espillway started flowing. I wouldn't send any of my people to that location for the near future. But those crazy guys who flew to the tops of the towers hanging on ropes probably jumped a the opportunity to fly to that tower to break it free at the base and then cable up and fly it out. |

They are going to have to check the primary to see how close the damage is to the gates at some point. |

Look at where the road and water meet on the right side of the screen grab. There's a several foot dropoff to the water where it has eroded down. View Quote There likely is one now... But that image was taken early yesterday while the road was still there. I don't think anyone is saying the road is still there in it's entirety currently... just that this particular image doesn't show it being gone. |

Closely zoomed in (and therefore shakey) video of the Espillway. Looks like a lot of scouring took place on the bare ground and bedrock is exposed in many places on the hillside. The runoff is a lot cleaner than yesterday and a pretty good channel has been cut going down the hill. It looks like the water it running on bedrock most of the way down now.

It appears that the flow disruption in the espillway is debris of some sort. Possibly trees. Others were wondering is that was a crack or defect. That doesn't seem to be the case.
