My ACD listens better than my wife!

I dare you to stand between him and the trucks door if I tell Cole to "Get in the Chopper!" And please don't expect to sit "shotgun" he'll tell you to get your bitch ass in the back seat.

When my wife comes with me he'll let her sit shotgun. He'll crawl onto my lap and pout.

If my wife asks me to take her to Starbucks, theyll give him a squirt of wipcream on a cup lid. Cole FUCKING KNOWS the word Starbucks.

I used to be a traveling sales rep, he's been in 120 bicycle shops with out an issue. He has been kicked out of a Home Depot, we now shop at a smaller family owned place and seldom go to a HD

There's a local resturant that caters to dog owners and they have a patio for dog owners. the food is pretty damn good for the $$$

Cole goes to work with me 3-4 days a week. He sleeps by the front door in the sun. If your a guy coming in I'll know it. If your a HOT chick, well...his bark is differant! I'll know it.

We took Max to Home Depot and Lowes when he was a puppy.  He always rode in the cart and had done all of his business before we went to the store.  People loved him.  It was a great ooportunity to socialize him and we only went after we had the store managers approval.

We still take our 6 year old Lab in since the children love to pet him.  We have never had any issues at all.  Again, we get the store managers approval before we take him in.

I will never willingly socialize with people who don't like dogs.

And I will never trust a man or woman that does not love a dog.

Unless you're going there to have the dog groomed or use other on-site services.

You can't stop at other stores, do you just make a special trip?

I know it's allowed, I know you can, but I'm interested in what makes people take a special trip to PetSmart just so they can walk the dog around in the store.

Sometimes, yeah. Other times if I'm running errands that are just a quick stop in and out then he waits out in the car.

My Boxers are better behaved than most peoples brats.  The local gun shop I spend a lot of time at, New Frontier Armory (shout-out to Guido and Cliff and everyone else) allow dogs in the store and my boys always get petted and compliments.  Helps that the store has their very own Bella (the Pug) to keep everybody in line.  I also take them to PetSmart, PetCo, 3-Dog Bakery, and every other place that allows dogs.  If you have a problem with that, buy the business and make the rules.  Otherwise, STFU.

I take my Corgi everywhere. If you don't like it, too bad.

My main reason for starting to do this was when he was a puppy...I wanted him to be calm and sweet around people...totally socialized...and it worked.

He is welcome at Home Depot, Lowes, Tractor Supply, and a few hardware stores.

Hell, there is a lady manager at HD that will sometimes just take my dog for a walk around the store while I shop.

I am well aware of who allows dogs into their stores...and those who know me, are well aware of where I do my shopping.

I don't mind paying the extra 20% at Home Depot if it means I can walk my dog at the same time when it's -30 degrees outside.

No kidding! Our pug goes everywhere, except food stores and restaurants. I carry him under my arm like a football and he's on a leash and harness. As one guy said, "He's better behaved than most of the customers. "

He goes to hardware stores, Lowe's, Home Depot, everywhere, incl. the Toyota dealership. At ALL of these places, suddenly dog treats appear for him. It's either that, or I leave him at home alone, or stuck in a hot car.

The only place any one has ever objected to him was at some crabby local gunshop, whose owner had the rep of being a wackjob and an asshole. When he started into me about "the fucking dog" under my arm, I reached for my wallet and started fanning 100 dollar bills, and turned to walk away in full view of him and his staff. "Hey, wait a minute, not so hasty..." I heard him say as I was walking out the door.

That gun store is now under new management, BTW. I now go back, and they love the dog- and my money.

In Europe, businesses have no problem with you bringing in your dog. Along with that is the understanding YOU are responsible for your dog's behavior.

First two are of emma in home depots or lowes. The second one was some antlers on an end cap display that we tried on her for kicks.

Shes a female belgian malinois / german shepherd mix and i lived in a 1000 sq ft apartment with only 600 accessable to her for several years so i took her everywhere in houston tx so she could stretch her legs.

I rehab and flip foreclosures now so im gone all day and at worksites so i take her with me still just because she likes it.

She is better trained and socialized than many service animals and K-9's ive come across and i have zero issues with her in public.
She has a leash with a clip on both ends and loops at several points on the leash to allow you to adjust the length of the leash and wear around your body like a rifle sling so your hands free.

Basically she has to stay within 3 feet of my left side and i dont have to look at or touch her. I can move around town with her at this point so freely that sometimes i will be shopping at a store and not look at her directly or interact with her for half an hour. She knows whats expected of her in public and doesnt need any fuss.

I have taken her into almost all hardware stores, sporting goods stores, gas stations, barber shops, small private business's, restaraunt outside patios, pet shops, ect on the west side of houston, basically half of one of the largest cities in the country.

I have never had any kind of problem with her in public and never found a person that had a problem with her except for people who are fearful of dogs and usually they just step 2 feet to the right and go about their business. Occasionally some one will ask if she bites or is viscious and ill look at the like theyre stupid and ask them why i would take something dangerous out in public and they will drop the topic.

The biggest problem i will have with her is when oblivious people who arent paying attention bumping into her or knocking into her with shopping carts because they are distracted and never look down and from the waist up you wouldnt realize that i have a dog with me.

Also, to the tool who lies and represents his dog as a service animal, knock that shit off.

Its worse than stealing handicap spots and is a lie to allow you to take your dog places where the owner should be allowed to probibit pets but cant due to federal law, although ive never gone anywhere or found a place that doesnt accept them. ( aside from certain hotels)

Usually when a person asks "is that a service animal?" and theyre an employee of someplace, if you say no, the next words out of their mouth are going to be "no pets allowed" when you lie and say yes, it prevents them from exercising lawful control of their own property.

Ive only been asked that question about 10 times in the 3 years that emma's been old enough and well trained enough to go places and every time shes been allowed to stay  because either they say "we dont usually allow dogs but you can stay because that ones surprisingly well trained" or they're just asking out of curiosity because they have never seen a service animal.

But im prepaired for that question to be asked one day and i say no and they throw me out. Thats how it should be, you shouldnt lie to hang out in a store with your personal pet against the staff's wishes.

Basically, you're exploiting handicapped people and you know damned well that you're wrong for it.

I recently had a incident with a customer about him bringing his dog into my place of business.  I told him that the chihuahua was not allowed in this business and that only service dogs were allowed.   He stated that his chihuahua was a service dog.  Then went on telling me that he was supposed to have the dog with him where ever he goes because it was to calm his nerves!  I looked at the Chihuahua that was inside his coat with his head peeking out.  The dogs eyes were twitching uncontrolably and it's body was shaking like a leaf in a storm. WTF, the dog was shaking uncontrolably and it was there to calm the guy's nerves!!!  Service Dog my ASS!!!  I lol and then repeated that the dog was not allowed and to not bring him in again. He left.  The next day he came in with the dog tucked in his coat again and presented me a note from his so called doctor who has his office in a nearby town.  It stated that the chihuahua was to be kept with him at all times to help him keep his nerves under control!!!!! Again WTF!!! I LOL'ed again  and repeated again to not bring the dog in.  So far he has complied.   The whole town still laughs over that one.  Someday I will write a book about everything that has happened in my workplace.

It felt totally unnatural to walk a dog into a patient room. I was extremely nervous about their behavior and "accidents". Good training and temerament won out. There has never been a problem.
