Quoted: Quoted: Newb question here.... I am setting up my first real belt. I want the ability to quick swap holsters and mag pouches (single stack to double). I got a Ragnarok holster with QLS, so that should be easy to swap. The mag pouches, I got esstacs with belt loops, thinking I could put the loops on/off directly on the belt, without having to undo the holster and belt buckle. Looks like that may not be the case. I can't seem to get the loops onto the pouch while on the belt, and all of the videos i have seen show people putting the loops on off the belt and then sliding it around the belt, which is what I wanted to avoid. So... the question I probably should have asked before I started is... What is the best/easiest way to attach a mag pouch without undoing the entire belt? I have an AWS belt with molle strip, but the molle and wtf loops looked like they wouldn't be too easy either. Any recommendations? Thanks! https://i.imgur.com/hGWIA7d.jpg?1 |

Looking to start my belt project.
What’s a decent budget setup? I was looking at the ATS Do I want the slimline or the regular war belt? |

@GLD1980 What pouch is that in what looks to be the small of your back? |

@eyerish
It is a PETAC GEAR purchased from Amazon. I just realized it is a T-REX clone. Made in China but is built ok. I bought the black and it held up so far during indoor clearing drills and car travel so I also got the Coyote. Neither have been field tested. Once I break one I will buy the T-Rex to compare and replace if its better. PETAC GEAR |

You guys are costing me money again.
I've got a Blue Alpha inner EDC belt on the way, with the intent to order one of the outer belts after confirming fit. I also just ordered a 7390 ALS mid-ride for my Sig P226, direct from Safariland. Lead times . Hoping against hope I ordered the right model. If you guys point me to an in-stock ALS mid-ride that will fit, that'd be awesome. Amazon has a 6390 that supposedly fits the P226, but Safariland's holster finder claims it doesn't. I dunno who to believe. I uh, may have been looking at BFG and Esstac pouches last night, too. Dammit. ETA: Safariland sent out a ship notification on 11/18, despite the 30 day lead time they claimed. Huh. |

Safariland 7390 ALS came in; this thing locks up *solid*. Feels good.
If I was to go looking for Esstac Kywis, what height would y'all suggest for pistol / AR mag pouches for a belt? What about AR pouches for front of plate carrier? |

Quoted: How do you guys keep your kit so clean? Is there something you do? Mine looks like shit with old mud, blood and sweat even when I try and wipe everything down. View Quote I know this post is a few months old but leaving all that crude on your gear doesn't make you look legit, it will make it prematurely fail, the dirt acts like an abrasive and the sweat and blood is corrosive. Guys in actual combat have no choice but to stay dirty but we do, there's nothing macho, manly, alpha, hsld, or tier 1 about sloppy gear. Take care of your gear and it will take care of you. |

What about AR pouches for front of plate carrier? View Quote For AR mag pouches I prefer mid-length on my belt, it puts the top of the magazine a little lower so they don't interfere with my plate carrier and are in a better place to draw. The shorts work on belts as well, but the long is too long. For my plate carrier I have long pouches, but the mid-length pouches appear to work just fine as well. Pistol pouches only come in one size to my knowledge. The deeper pistol pouches are made for extended mags or pistol-caliber carbine mags. They would not work well for a standard pistol mag. |

Thanks, y'all. That's about what I figured.
Now to decide on colors. |

Freakin' thread cost me money. Esstac AR and pistol mag pouches get here today, the Blue Alpha double MOLLE belt will hopefully be delivered this year. Now for an OWB retention holster for my pistol, an IFAK and perhaps a dump pouch...
