I have more than that in just running shoes. I rotate every day.
Different types of footwear serve different purposes. I wouldn't hike cross-country in running shoes, or run in hiking boots. I have dress shoes that I wear on rare occasions; naturally one pair of black and one pair of brown, somewhere. I have swim fins, bedroom slippers, etc. But usually I go barefoot around the house.
I have that many pairs of hiking boots/shoes. Not including slip-ons, dress shoes, etc.
I have probably north of 15 pairs.. I dont wear alot of them.. But I dont want to get rid of em either...
I think I have exactly 7.
Wait, I forgot I have a pair of bowling shoes. Eight. |
Work buys me new boots every 9 months. I can't wear them out fast enough.
Yes. Some of them are dedicated like formal wear but still the answer is yes.
Yes, of course. I presume waders are just specialized footwear? Ice skates?
Yes, when I find decent footwear in a men's 16W, I just buy them.

4 pair of Altras, 2 pair Oboz boots, muck boots, some dress shoes, flip flops…guess I do.

Who the hell needs 7 pairs of shoes... are you a chick?

Shit, I have three pair of boots alone. One 6" no insulation, one 6" medium insulation with flat soles for concrete, and my shit kickers, 8" insulated. I collect running shoes and have at least five pair of Crocs. I am way north of 7 pairs of footwear.

I currently have more than that because I'll buy extra shoes, work boots, etc when I find a closeout deal. But if you have a job where you wear dress shoes, and you're into any sports with specialty footwear (I bowled, played racquet sports, rode bicycles), 7 pairs is a low threshold. People who live in snowy/rainy regions are gonna cross it easily.

Items 1-5 support your point of manly shoe ownership. Items 6-10 , with possible exception of #8 seem to refute the point rather convincingly. I'm conflicted... |

Logging boots, hiking boots, work boots, winter snow boots, climbing shoes, motorcycle boots, bicycle shoes, and ski boots... those are just specialty footwear that any active outdoors guy would have...
As for shoes... Like regular going to town shoes? 3 pair dress shoes, 2 pair summer casual, running shoes, court shoes, water shoes... etc. 7 pair would be hard to accomplish |
Of course.

I am manly, therefore anything I do is manly even if that thing is baking delicate desserts or getting a manicure. |
