Just like the title says, do you keep your nightstand handgun holstered? If so, why? If not, why?
Nope. It's in a drawer. Why would I keep it in a holster? I'm not wearing it.
No for me. Would rather not mess with a holster or locks if I need it. No kids here, just my wife and I
Yep, it’s a simple finger retaining holster that’s bolted in a shelf. Hard for others to see. Easy to grab
Yes because I don't have a nightstand so I put it random places like my little camping side table or on the floor or wherever
No, but it's a 1911. I'd holster it if it didn't have a safety.
No, because a holster would be an unnecessary encumbrance if I want to shoot someone.

The G19 is the main nightstand gun and it stays in the holster because I sometimes carry it. If I keep the holster with it might as well be in it. Also no safety=holstered for me at least. |
No.
But I have another pistol in a holster if needed, and the bathroom rifle has a sling. |
yeah, Mine's just in one a those kinda felt-like material Uncle Mikes pocket holsters, so it's pretty accessible.... I need to get one a those bed/mattress holsters which I think would be ideal, although I've never actually had experience with one and don't really know where to buy..

No. I don’t. Just me and the SO here. I want to grab and go. It’s on the other side of the night stand so I have to sit up reach over to grab it.

Glock 22 w/ Streamlight, 165g HST in a pistol safe with the lid open. Right by the bed.
If the grandkids come over, I just snap the lid shut. Easy to open in the dark, takes about 3 seconds, but I usually open it after the company leaves anyway. 18" shotgun in the closet, but I keep it unloaded. Shells are on top closet shelf if I need them. I have cameras and a commercial burglar alarm, so I will have a little time to get ready. |
Of course not. That would be one more thing to slow down response.

Yes. G19 with tlr7 is my carry gun and HD gun.
When I get home I take the gun and holster off together no reason to take it out of the holster. |
I'll add this to the discussion. Midnight. Awaken from REM sleep. I'd want a holster or a safety to make me pause enough, to get a little thought about what's going down.
Get both!
I have two loaded 1911's on my nightstand - one is holstered the other is not. |
No one in the house but me and my wife. No holster and a loaded rifle between the night stand and bed.
I sleep with it on my side in a holster.
Actually I leave it in the holster because it’s my carry gun. However I do have two others in different places that are not holstered. Everyone needs a kitchen gun. |
Yes. M&P9c with TLR7 holstered in the nightstand drawer because it's also my main carry gun. Based on my house layout and having dogs, I should have plenty of time to get it out if someone were to foolishly break into my house.
Yeah but the holster is clipped to a box next to my bed and its only held in by friction. I can grab it and it unholster one handed.
