I'm not TRULY arguing that this is a good idea. I'm pointing out how a few of you are making strange arguments about state sizes and how you're apparently saying that a peaceful Europe works there with many countries, but couldn't work here.
My point about the fed isn't really about the founding father's intentions, but if you think what we have now fits that bill then I'm not sure where you're coming from on that. Don't you think they'd be disgusted with what the fed has become?

My point about Europe was, the current point in time is a historical oddity; the birth and continued existence of the US is a historical oddity. I suppose you could argue two examples are enough proof that either could happen again if you hit the reset button. Historically, it ranges from dicey to not likely. I'm not arguing that it couldn't happen, I don't think either has existed long enough to say historical trends have been broken.
The Federal government was for more than just mutual defense. And no I'm sure none of them would be fully happy with how things have turned out.

England, France, Germany, Russia, Spain and Scandinavia aren't engaged in overt war.
