You will have to make the case that prohibited persons should be armed.

If a felon tries to buy a gun or a straw purchaser they should be prosecuted.  Obama ignoring existing gun laws so he could justify passing new ones was an odious policy.

Or do you think Fast and Furious was a good thing?

To reiterate for you what I said. I  do not TRUST  the Nra or Don when it comes to the RKBA.  They both use scare tactics, and nice pro gun words to get us to vote and send money their way. Do I think the NRA would come for my Ar15’s, No.

I am not OK with no new legislation.

I want 34 repealed.  91 Import ban (which trump could do now) gone.  If not 34 repealed, at least HPA.

But I understand that silencers and MGs are fringe issues.

Don't confuse my understanding of political realities as an endorsement of them.

I am certainly not going to hyperventilate about a throw away tweet from Trump.

Seriously.  If after 2 years you don't realize his twitter feed is just his thinking aloud, I don't know what to tell you.

Have you ever wondered what is going through the president's head?  Now you know.  Thats what I call transparency.

Trump, to his credit, knows what he doesn't know.  Guns is something he doesn't know.  And when he has questions on issues (and printing guns became an issue because of lawsuits and federal judges) he asks people he trusts.

Trump goes to the NRA.  To everyone not WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY into guns, NRA is THE pro-gun lobby.

A president getting his policy on firearms from the NRA is the best anyone can reasonably hope for.  To see it as impending doom and door to door confiscation tomorrow is foolishness at best and a disqualifier on your 4473 at worst.

Right.  I still don’t 100% trust the NRA either.  It’s funny how everytime Don’s actions or lack of actions are questioned, it’s ‘well what about the NRA’, ‘well what about Hilldog’.. etc etc. and the questions remain unanswered.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Without firearm restrictions(or the threat of), the NRA wouldn’t even be legitimate. But you still make the assumption that Don is some bastion of pro 2A rights.  Donald trump has never been a friend of the RKBA.  The 2nd coalition and the HPA buzz was simply a talking point to get elected.

Everyone needs to realize that when Trump tweets or says something (especially off the cuff), you CANNOT take it seriously, or even literally.

His tweets MIGHT be very serious, and represent a stable belief/attitude on something.

His tweets MIGHT be designed to tweak/infuriate people.

His tweets MIGHT be designed as an opening position in a later negotiation.

His tweets MIGHT be designed to help frame an issue for discussion.

His tweets MIGHT just be stream-of-consciousness off the top of his head.

With Trump, the only actual thing that matters is the outcome.  What will actually happen - and not what he says.

In terms of guns, so far, NOTHING bad has happened, and in terms of the SCOTUS, things are looking very, very good.  I voted for Trump for one reason, and that is SCOTUS appointments.  So far, my vote has paid off very well.

If Hillary had been elected, the 2nd Amendment would have been totally fucked in the Supreme Court already.

My guess is that he likes to demonstrate he is on top of any and all situations.  That what is happening in the news cycle is something he is aware of and dealing with.  A CEO trait.  And then he delegates the details.

I personally like the transparency and it keeps Trump driving the narrative instead of the MSM

Agreed.

But now we are back to fantasy land versus reality.

In fantasy land, violent felons all receive life without parole.

In reality land, they are let out after 3 years.

So you can deal with reality or deal with fantasy.

Your call.

I am not even sure what I am supposed to be doing at this point.
Super glad to have you contributing to the conversation then.

I kind of want Trump to tweet something pro-abortion just to see what the reaction from left and right would be.

Because Obama wanted to ban guns.

Trump just wants to get the tards riled up.

And boy howdy, does he ever.
Huh. I overestimated you. You're not "better than this".

Hope appeasement works this time, Neville. It would be the first.
Wait...…..now you be fair......Trump is not advocating the outlawing of 3D printing.
He’s opening the door to it. A door that should be carefully guarded.

He closed the door one day later.

I do admit why he made that additional "seems silly" statement was unnecessary and asinine though.

I'd suspect if it came out that he had paid for some, his supporters wouldn't even care.

Well, now you find yourself in a dilemma.

You are stuck in the position as a lone voice in the wilderness.  You may even be right.  But you are not going to get a president, of any party, of any background to say, "The NRA is a bunch of gun grabbing faggots. Molon Labe mother fuckers.  MGs for everyone"

So representing, what, maybe 20,000 people what are you stuck with.

And now you have to prove to me the NRA secretly wants to ban all ARs (which, of course, is the inevitable slippery slope if bump stocks (which you can still buy, btw.  Do you even own one?).

Good luck.

Good Lord are you intentionally being dense?

The discussion is far bigger than bumpfire stocks or even ARs.

Your god emperor has opened the door to the idea that banning an object can make people safer. Something the NRA and all of us have vehemently argued against from the start.

It’s not about objects. Objects are tools. It’s about evil in the hearts of men.

I take it you missed this.

You will have to make the case that prohibited persons should be armed.

If a felon tries to buy a gun or a straw purchaser they should be prosecuted.  Obama ignoring existing gun laws so he could justify passing new ones was an odious policy.

Or do you think Fast and Furious was a good thing?
I think the point is way over your head.

Why when the R’s are not in control, do they push for pro-gun legislation they know will never pass. Then when they are actually in control, you hear crickets?

You got played like a fiddle son. Sorry.
No he didn't...…...Hillary simply COULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WIN.
That doesn’t mean Trump gets a free pass to do whatever. He sucked up to us to get elected... time to throw us some love back.

“Not banning” something doesn’t count.

He should be doing FAR more pro active 2A stuff.

If we retain power in the House and gain in the Senate I hope that opens the door AND he takes advantage of that.

some folks probably sat him down and educated him

his tweet reflects his actual beliefs on the topic, as does his post-Parkland retardation.... they're completely in line with his historical positions

Not banning something is equivalent to not doing anything. He should be at least actively trying to increase and defend our rights. He keeps talking to the NRA, and the NRA seems to be starting to follow Trump on his positions. I don't know who is leading who but it isn't the glory that we were promised.

Which has consequences. I do not know where we go from here, and you all know the R's will eventually lose power. So if we are collectively disturbed by a twittering oval office, just wait till the D's are doing it.

They won't.

The dems can never admit to what they are actually thinking and the MSM carries their water for them.

Tweeting is how Trump bypasses the communist media and speaks directly to the american people.

That people don't understand this very simple fact baffles me.

that people refuse to admit it is the basis of his success is, at this point, lunacy.

I think most people here understand the simple facts that I pointed out:

entertaining the easily entertained

riling up the easily riled up

sucking up news cycles

but "speaking directly to the American people" is, from time to time, of dubious value

showing your ass on gun rights issues is one of those times

He could over turn anti-gun EO's right fucking now with nothing more than his will and a pen. Why doesn't he? Stop trying to hide the fact by acting like he needs congress. That's bullshit.

Lets break this down.

I am looking into 3-D Plastic Guns being sold to the public. Already spoke to NRA, doesn’t seem to make much sense!

The first statement.  The lawsuits trying to stop the files implied that Plastic Guns are being sold to the public.

He has already spoken to the NRA prior to the tweet.

He said, and I completely agree, that doesn't seem to make much sense, because it wasn't true.

This is the tweet that proved to EVERYONE on this thread masturbating to finally being either 1.  Right about Trump or 2.  Gonna finally vote from the rooftops and get to shoot BATFE agents who are going to seize all the guns door to door.

I want YOU to explain how his tweet "showed his ass on gun rights"

be specific now.

I don't know why......I have even emailed the White House and still have gotten no answer.

He could reverse that bullshit Bush Sr. ordered by EO IIRC, once again, I have received no answer.
