We had a guy with a disassembled motorcycle and a ultralight (airplane) in his room on inspection day.

View Quote We kept a chest of drawers in our wall locker and the bottom drawer was always open when he was there with me. On the command "inspection" that little puppy would dive into the bottom drawer hard enough to close it and stay quiet until I let him out. It was amazing. Only had to use it once. |

Quoted: A warrant officer is a subject matter expert, a specialist, focusing on a single skill or specialty, who, as tbey progress through the ranks, know more and more about less and less, until they eventually know everything about nothing. This is in contrast to the officers, who are generalists. As they progress through their careers, leading larger and larger formations, they know less and less about more and more, until they eventually know nothing about everything. View Quote |

Between those pictures and that other thread where they mock the swearing in ceremony, WTF AIR FORCE!!!

Reminds me of the mess hall at Rhein-Main.

We were required to sign in to the chow hall in Mainz just to keep the numbers up, whether we ate there or not. Once the numbers were up, we got steak and lobster almost every week.
On another note, is it true that enlisted Airmen pay for their meals at a DFAC? |

For the Army, single enlisted (under the rank of SSG, but I could be wrong) get BAS in their checks, but it is also deducted to pay for their meals at the DFAC, so they don't actually "see" that money in their deposit. If you are on separate rations/married and living off post/E6 or above, you get BAS to pay for your food, but if you eat at the DFAC you have to pay out of pocket just like in a restaurant. Quoted: Are chow halls a thing of the past then? You can't eat for free? View Quote If you live off post you get BAQ/BAS - if you want to eat in the mess hall it costs you a few dollars per meal since they already paid you to get your own food... |
