I heard that the actor who played Tommy Webber was hit by a drunk driver or just a crash or something and is paralyzed.

I have watched this movie easily 30+ time, and this thread inspired me to watch it again. Growing up in a trek house (conventions and all), I can't help but laugh at it all.. it's just so perfect..
