Oxygen replacement or hydrogen sulfide would both kill you, and your dog. Don't be stupid next time. Farmers and two or three of their family die in manure pits every year. View Quote |

My wife and I went out walking the property looking for her and we couldn’t find her anywhere. We decided to let out our other dog and he brought us out behind the shed. I had walked by there about a half hour earlier, but this time we smelled shit. Low and behold we see this little hole in the ground and hear a whimper. Upon closer inspection there is my dog looking half dead. She had somehow backed herself into the outlet pipe. At this point I don’t know what the fuck to do, so we call the fire department and get their voicemail :(. We figure ok no answer there so let’s go grab the ladder and go down and get her. I can’t fit down the hole and get her, so my wife tries to slide the ladder right under the dog and kinda wedge it between the wall and the outside of the hole. The dog was weakened and terrified. We attempted to coax her up unsuccessfully. I decided to hook my feet into the livestock fence and lower down head first into the tank. I couldn’t reach her, but I was able to get her to put her paw on the ladder. I then grabbed that paw and pulled her other paw out of the pipe. Finally I was able to get a grip on her and wrestle her up and out of the hole. What a stressful morning! We think a cow stepped on the lid and flipped it in because a week ago a herd broke into our property. View Quote |

All joking aside, this. Go to vet and have blood work done. That adventure would be very rough on any living thing. Get the pooch checked out. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I know you got the dog out and cleaned up, but a trip to the vet is likely still warranted, watch for signs of infection, as that environment is rough on a immune system. Go to vet and have blood work done. That adventure would be very rough on any living thing. Get the pooch checked out. Take the pit to the vets and get it the sleepy shot in the arm !! |

Did Pennywise take the form of a toddler to draw it down there?

That won’t work, the baby’ll just fall off. You have to put it on a hook or something. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

You should have left him in there. Now it'll repay you by chewing off your face.

Glad your dog is ok, pit or not..... Why is there a hole large enough in the septic that would accept something that large? I have an aerobic and there's no holes. My grandparents had a conventional septic with a concrete lid on the main hole , no openings. I don't get it. View Quote |

I'll never bitch about my cat drinking from the toilet again!
Glad your pup is going to survive this shitty situation! |

Pitbulls are the attractive blondes of the dog world. Some people say curious, I call them dumb — at least mine always have been. When my lab/pit mix does something stupid I blame it on her pit side.

Sweet jesus. Get that dog to the vet man. Good chance the vet will put the pup on antibiotics as a precaution. Please.
