I was confused and said, "excuse me?" He called me a little bitch again. I stood there as he walked away backward attempting to antagonize me by calling me a bitch and saying I wasn't going to do nothing. I started to walk away and saw an associate. I asked him if he could call the store security and get the guy removed from the store for harassing shoppers. I looked back to see the guy take off his hoodie and reach into his waistband. I thought for sure he was getting ready to do something real stupid. I took off down an aisle, pulled the sling bag in front of me, and opened the CCW compartment. I didnt draw, but just kept my hand on the gun. I circled around the guy and exited the store while calling 911. The employee must have called too, because the cops showed up while I was on the phone. I got to my car and stayed there as the 911 operator asked me to do. Not more than 30 seconds later the dude comes out of the store entirely naked. The cops arrest him, an ambulance shows up briefly, and they take him off in a police car. One of the cops came to talk to me and said he was known to the police and has mental health issues. I asked if he had a gun, since it looked like he was reaching for one in his waistband. The cop told me no, but that the guy took off all his clothes in the store and urinated on them before leaving naked. Eta: I also had a Sig P365 concealed IWB, but didnt want to draw it. My goal was to get the hell out of there. Eta: This happened in Gainesville. GA TL/DR dude harrassed me at Target, got naked and peed on his clothes, then got arrested. Just marking them so no one takes them while he gets an orange jumpsuit.

I suspect the OP has quickly discovered that a fanny pack on his back is useless in an emergency. Now that OP has been subjected to the real possibility of having had to use deadly force, he will likely know much better now how he wants to go carrying, and how he DOESN'T want to be carrying.
You guys may not know this, but they do make fanny packs for guns that with your left hand you only need to pull down one single rip-cord at the top of the bag, and it smoothly pulls down a zipper on the right and a zipper on the left, to open the whole front of the fanny bag and fully expose your gun tucked into a holster. The gun is held in place via a holster velcro'd at any angle you desire and retrieved fast with your right hand. If you wear this fanny pack on your waste just like a belt, you will have instant access to your gun with a single pull of that cord in 1 second without fumbling or manually pulling on a zipper. I own two black fanny packs like this that go for about $60 today that I bought at the same dealer years ago. They are compact and don't have ugly ass triangular pockets that wrap around on your right and left hips looking like you have a uterus. That is some ugly crap they show on youtube. I don't know why youtube shows so many crappy design fanny packs that require a lot of time opening a zipper as if it were a purse. Too much fumbling! Half the crap they sell on youtube doesn't even have holsters holstered in it to keep your gun at the angle you want and ready to retrieve in an instant. |

Heh, interesting story.
You need to look hard and deep at your decision making process. If you truly thought he was reaching for a gun, the last thing on your mind should have been digging though your man-purse for a harder to access defensive tool. It's not easy to draw down on another man, there can be long lasting mental, worldly and criminal consequences. You need to come to terms with that, and mentally prepare. I'm not saying you should have drawn and put three into him, but my own response would have been to at least put my hand on my belt edc and back off warning him, full well knowing if a gun comes out he gets dropped. Practicing what ifs can be depressing, but helpful. I guess at least he didn't club you from behind and pee on you

OP getting crushed for his bag carry LOL.
I set one of those up after seeing that Warrior Poet guy's video on it. It replaced my briefcase, carrying a laptop, paperwork, along with more tactical stuff like first aid, light, spare mags, SPARE handgun. I use it in mostly business settings where a pistol on my belt is not possible. In these bizarre times, I KINDA understand OP carrying it into Target, but going for that pistol vs the one on the belt? Somethings fucky..... Best story of the week though

To clarify, my first move when I saw him reaching in his waistband (apparently for his dick) was to go for concealment in an aisle where he could not see me. Only then did I decide to go for my bag over my . I removed myself from immediate harm and didn't want to be seen by others as "a guy running through the store with a gun." My outcome with the police would have probably been different if I drew my gun. 99.9% of the time I carry IWB, but the bag seemed appropriate for this situation. As for digging around in the bag, all you do is pull the bag away from your body with one hand and the zippers undo themselves automatically. All that's left is to blindly reach in and grab the gun with the other hand. Pictures of the purse for reference.  As for the sub gun in the bag, it doesn't fit.
