Due to site resource shortages, there will be no poll.
What are you doing in your day to day lives to mitigate inflation? I guess "nothing, I'm just sucking it up" is a legitimate answer so let us all know if that's the case. Besides that though, any habits being changed? |

We cut way down on eating out/takeout. Which helps with gasoline use, too. That's it for us, so far.

Spending less, consolidating debt to lower interest rates, not making extra payments on debt principal.

Pretty much just sucking it up.
I did order a truck as our family vehicle was approaching end of life. The amount I ordered it for was acceptable to our budget. If inflation gets really bad I expect vehicle prices to increase substantially. If inflation tapers off, I've spent an amount I'm ok with spending on something we've wanted for a long time. |

I’m trying to build a house. Frankly inflation combined with supply chain uncertainty is killing me.

Inflation hasn't substantially effected anything I purchase regularly other than gasoline/diesel fuel and some construction supplies.

Making certain we take advantage of the 3-5% cash back provisions on using credit as well as being much more selective in how we spend money

nothing really yet. i cut down on eating out and driving well before inflation was a problem. ive also moved the timeline of many projects. i dont want the money sitting around losing value.

Using low interest credit to buy assets. The problem is finding assets that aren't rising due to inflation. There are still some consumer goods that haven't gone up too dramatically and many stores offer 0 percent financing still. Think furniture, appliances, home improvement, etc. I am guessing we are only halfway or so to the peak inflation, so even paying 10% more than something now is still a bargain in 5 years as inflation continues to rise - this makes sense with 0 percent interest over multiple years. Vehicles have gotten retarded, but I have found that trade in value has outpaced new in SOME cases.

Spreading cheeks, and feeling glad I bought new cars and built a new house in the mid 2010s.

I paid off all my debt ~1.5 years ago and invested all my payments in the market. Which, paid off last year. This year (2022) I intended to probably get ~600k of personal debt to sorta beat inflation. As I’m in the process of designing and building a new house, plus I wanted to buy a new truck. Unfortunately due to shortages - neither of those will happen in 2022. |

Raised my hourly rate, adjustment was based on the DOL inflatiron amount (which was under estimated).
We had a successful 2021 hunting season and gives us meat this year. Between myself and the kids we will have plenty of opportunity at hunts this year to have food. Trying to find deals to lessen the blow of increased costs. Since we are renting hopefully we don't see a large increase on our renewal. |

I have to suck up the food and fuel costs, but I don't spend much outside of that unless something breaks and needs replaced. |

I'm buying stuff I want this year now before prices go up more.

Personal life? I bought half a beef and half a hog. We are genuinely watching grocery bills. As well I am not even considering any new vehicles. In fact it is so far off my radar it is ridiculous.
Business life? I have been raising our prices tremendously and raising employee wages. I have been looking to diversify our businesses into several different revenue streams. |

Accelerating purchases of things I was planning on buying later.

I sold my place, moved into a place with a fixed $500 rent, although I'll pay any property tax increases.
Working from home. I don't eat fast food or prepared food from grocery stores or cafeterias. I will probably will be ending my gym membership soon. I will ask for a job progression, that should be a 10% raise. I'll probably get it since all the other people with my experience got sacked over the vaccines. |
