Quoted: When I make it from scratch I put some scallion, tamari (a type of soy sauce), and some black pepper. Sometimes add onions and hot sauce too. View Quote you're insane. I start with generic chopped oats, mix in a good bit of milk, nuke it until the milk JUST starts bubbling, then dump in some Optimum Nutrition Gold extreme chocolate whey powder and sliced almonds and thin slices of banana and mix all that up. shits good yo. |

Non 3-minute, cook for 5-7 minutes, a pat of butter, tsp of brown sugar, a dollop of honey; chopped almonds or granola and raisins, milk.

No thank you. Oatmeal makes me super gassy.
If I mix in a scoop of whey protein, it could probably kill someone. |

Rolled oats: little salt, little pepper, a pat of butter, and a shake of mushroom powder.

Old Fashioned coarse cut. Straight from the package with a splash of milk and a few raisins. Uncooked.

Steel cut oats, dash of cinnamon, a bit of brown sugar and milk floated on top.

The corn-flavored variety they call grits. Polenta, for you worldly types.

plain oatmeal with a dollop of plain yogurt. It's more like medicine than food.

Batter dipped & deep fried like hush puppies with some honey butter dipping sauce.

Quoted: My wife makes steel cut oats in the insta pot. Oatmeal, diced apple, and some cinnamon. I put a little milk on it and eat it warm. View Quote What settings does she use and how much water to oat ratio? I have one but like I tried to make pasta in it and it burned it. @sigman68 @DParker75089 |

Steel cut with pineapple tidbits, raisins, cinnamon and sugar...

I have one but like I tried to make pasta in it and it burned it. @sigman68 @DParker75089 My liquid-to-oats ratio is 3:1. I use 2 parts almond milk (the oats have enough carbs as it is, so I avoid adding any more) and 1 part water. Dump everything (including whatever flavorings you like...vanilla, cinnamon, whatever) in the pot, press the "Pressure Cook" button and set to normal/medium heat and high pressure. Set timer for 6 minutes. After that, 10 minutes of natural release followed by pressure valve release and you're done. I make up to 4 qts at a time and keep it in the fridge. |

Steel cut, dried cherries, dried cranberries, dried blueberries, maple syrup, brown sugar, butter, and some half and half. I'm pretty sure all the stuff I add to it negates the health benefits of oatmeal.

Old fashioned with a scoop of peanut butter and raisins. I’ll sometimes sprinkle some cinnamon on top.

Cookies, Gawd damn i love oatmeal raisin cookies.
bars oatmeal cereal - almost fluid enough to drink. With brown sugar and touch of maple syrup. |

Quoted: Good, steel cut oats are tasty by themselves with little salt and some form of fat. Fresh ground hominy, same. If you let your palate go back to being satiated without all the added shit, you can appreciate the simple flavors for what they are. We've been making bread from fresh ground wheat berries. The sublime, simple flavor of just that by itself is special. View Quote I agree on the wheat berries thing. We have had our grinder for a little over a year. It is a game changer. Still won't ever like oatmeal. I'll eat it if I have no options, but I can't stand it. |

Two packs of instant maple brown sugar with a heaping tablespoon of real brown sugar.

Quoted: Yeah. I've always like oatmeal, and one of the best moves I ever made diet-wise was to ditch the instant loaded-with-sugar crap and switch to making my own from steel-cut oats and adding the same sweeteners you listed (including the stevia variants) with some nuts and cinnamon I also learned that the absolute best method for doing this was using a pressure cooker (an Instant Pot in my case). Quick and near effortless, with excellent results. I can make enough to last me for weeks in one shot. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51z8YM54pZL.jpg View Quote Yep, that's the stuff the wife has on the shelves. I admit, it tastes better than any other oatmeal, but it's still gross... |

Today was low sugar instant packs with two scoops of whey and two table spoons of almond butter.

In the garbage. I remember in the 60"s a babysitter that used to chase me around the neighborhood to force me to eat the congealed mass of oatmeal. After she caught me, I had to sit there for hours until I ate it. Sometimes it took 4 hours to gulp it down as I was gagging. Not my favorite food but I do like it in cookies or meatloaf because it disguises the taste.

View Quote Do a scoop of whey, a scoop of malt, and then go to a leftist rally. Preferably indoors. If anyone complains, you can pick a huge number of ways to make them feel horrible. "Why are you discriminating against my flatulence, something I have had to live with my entire life, is it because I am gay?" You get the picture. |

I prefer it with fresh fruit (usually blueberries) and that’s it. I do like it with butter and salt and pepper with some smoked link sausage added.
I like my grits savory every time though. Butter, salt, pepper. |
|
Butter, a bit of vanilla powder and stevia/monk fruit if I want sweetness, a bit of salt.
While it tastes alright, Quaker Oats pre flavored oatmeal has insane amounts of sugar. 2 packs has more sugar than a can of Coke. |
|
|
Dash of salt, dash of cinnamon, spoonful of light brown sugar, and homemade maple syrup. Thick, but not stand a spoon up thick.
With a side of Greek yogurt and Costco coffee, black. |

Fresh rolled, toasted before cooking, with blueberries. Hard to beat.
