how do you defeat radical islamic terror?
Kill their support bases through war and economy push for tolerant philosophy of islam or conversion to Christianity or no religion at all in all islamic countries kill as many as them as you can, where you can, and as brutally as you can until they have no further drive to fight. Work with countries that are civilized, even our enemies to accomplish that goal(Russia and China), if there is one thing we can agree on, we all hate the Middle East and just want the oil. |

Become allies with Russia and help Putin if he helps us in a war against Islamic Jihadists. Invade any middle eastern country that refuses demands to stop harboring terrorists.

bang all their women. View Quote You're on point. This is a generational and cultural war. The best way to wage it is to breed out the culture. Drop cargo planes full of iPads loaded with Americana and western culture. Drop Pokémon and barbi dolls. Kill the radicals and breed the women and raise the kids as westerners. The culture is a violent death cult as is the religion. |

Put Muslims back in Islamic countries.
They'll putative be happier and when they slaughter each other it'll just be them "doing what they do". But I agree, that's a helluva promise. |

Just convert muslims to a different religion View Quote They'd have to do that themselves. It's a choice. They are free to choose. It says much when you choose a religion that preaches violence, murder and enslavement of those unlike themselves. It's a wilful choice of an aggressive and oppressive system that claims religious, and hence moral and cultural, superiority over others. |

Go after their main state sponsors, namely Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Iran. You think groups like ISIS just happened to stumble across giant suitcases full of hundred dollar bills? but we were told that they are helping us to fight the terrorists that they fund. The great thing is that with fracking we can finally tell the Saudis to go fuck themselves if only we had the the will to do it. Certainly an important first step would be to shut down the funding of radical Wahhabist mosques in the West by the Saudis. Increasing fracking is an important strategic step in drying up all the money that the Middle East has used to export their idiotic death cult. |

Just about everything mentioned in this thread so far is either dumb as dogshit or something we've already been doing for the last 15 years. In order to "unite the civilised world against radical Islamic terrorism, which we will eradicate completely from the face of the Earth" we're going to need to put more guys on the ground in more places and put more money and time into developing and supporting the political allies in those places we'd like to see in control. There's no nuclear solution, or stepped-up air plan, or genocide, or attacking Saudi Arabia, or any other retarded plan GD would like to see happen. There's just an increased willingness to grind, die, and spend. And even that isn't going to "eradicate" anything from the face of the earth.

We needed to take out Saudi Arabia, not Iraq. There are many things we could do short of nuking a Middle Eastern country. For one, we ought to be fracking the Bakken formation like it was a porn star right now. Drive down the global price of crude and our "friends" the Saudis will have far less cash for their most consequential export - Islamic Extremism. But yes, at the end of the day the way you win is by beating your enemy, which historically has meant killing them in droves. Apparently that is an idea that is shocking of the sensibilities of our ruling elites. |

Carpet-bomb Mecca for starters. Then when the Muslims worldwide go crazy, defeat them in detail. There has to be a heavy price associated with belonging to the "religion of peace." The Muslims are good at making other people martyrs. It's time that we ease their path of becoming martyrs themselves.
We need a secular Crusade to cleanse this scourge from the earth. |

And in the middle east, the idea of following "the strong horse" is quite prevalent. People in that culture are *not* attracted to the losing side. The problem is that they too often aren't losing. Radical Islamic is not like Imperial Japan or Nazi Germany. Both Japan and Germany were highly structured and disciplined societies that were controlled by distinct figureheads. Allied forces used conventional warfare to defeat identifiable standing armies and forced those government structures to formally capitulate, which led to commands to Japanese and German soldiers to surrender. German and Japanese forces did not engage in years, or decades, of terrorist activities. They obeyed the orders of their leaders, even in defeat. The Japanese imperialists and German Nazis each practiced an ideology that emphasized fierce nationalism. That type of formal structure does not exist among radical Islamic terrorists, who do not exist within one national boundary. They live and operate in the Middle East, in the Philippines, in Europe, in parts of Russia, in Africa, and in the U.S. They do not follow any single living leader or government; and they often do not communicate, or even agree, with other terrorist groups. Trump saying "we will eradicate [radical Islamic terrorism] completely from the face of the Earth" is as bold and as foolish as saying that "we will completely eradicate poverty" or "we will completely eradicate drug use." It is impossible to "eradicate" it completely. |

Since Islam is intrinsically extremist, this will never be 100% successful.
However, I don't believe it has to be. We just had at least 16 years where the presidents pretended that Islam was not a problem. The "Islam is a religion of piece" garbage that W also frequently asserted. The fact that Trump is right up front saying that he's going to aggressively counter Islamic extremism will (after a few violent examples in the middle east) serve to remove a large portion of the threat. They only respect the strong horse, as one of their deceased hell-spawn used to state. |

Create a huge uninhabited buffer zone, much wider than between the Koreas. We'll probably need to start by heavily arming Kurds, using the reaction from Turkey to kick it out of NATO. Do a Gibraltar situation on the Bosporus, get those dufuses out of the picture. ETA: also draw a containment line in Africa. |

Ok, so basically just give up and die as Islam spreads throughout the world? Maybe HOPE they'll eventually grow up a bit like Christianity did? No, we do what I said we needed to do. The question is whether or not we have the grit and the balls to spend the money and the time and the men. The answer under Obama was, "no." The GOP's answer is, "no." We'll see what Trump has to say. I guess the other answer would be to give up being a global power and hunker down. Our grandfathers rejected that course-of-action after WWII, see if we need to re-learn that lesson too. |

You just have to finally name the fucking enemy and make them bleed so badly they don't want to talk to us for 100 years. THAT is most certainly attainable, but it means overwhelming force an no longer sending a squad at a time into an islamic city with the instructions to not shoot at anything unless they've already been blown up. This is ENTIRELY an issue of will. Hopefully Trump has it. |

Remember that while most, almost all, muslims agree with violent jihad, only a relative few are actually doing it. Others would rather take care of their farms and businesses. As with many things, knock down the leaders and activists, the rest will stay quieter.
