I just ran the 1.5 mile in 12:46.
That is not fast by any means, but it is the best i have done in 2 years. a 1.5 mile run is one commonly used standard to rate overall fitness, so I ask: how fit is GD? |
About 10min. I do my two mile run in 13:50-14:00, so I guess around 10 for 1.5miles.

Is there a Doner Kebab waiting for me at the end of the run? I hear there's plenty of scones, crumpets, curry, bangers, mash, and room temp beer all waiting for ya! |

fastest time for me was 10:30ish I think
normal is about 11:30 I hate running |

1.5 miles is a warmup. but last time I did a phyisical it was a 9:50 indoor track, not ideal and very dry air. I normally like to run at least a 10k or 6.2 miles.

About 11 min, but it has been a while since I tested that distance.
Ran a 6:39 mile a few weeks ago, so it is possible for me to run a mile and a half in 10:30-10:40 or so |
Ran it in 11:50 last month during our annual SWAT PT assessment.
Instead of using a watch to time me.............................
A calendar would be better. |
Yeah, not fast. There's a reason I have a truck, motorcycle, and ATVs.
I've been working on my cardio for almost a month now. I can't yet do anywhere near 1.5 miles. I'll get back to you later.

Is there a Doner Kebab waiting for me at the end of the run? Heart doner maybe???????????? Seriously I'm way out of running shape. Best 2 mile ever was 12:37 I believe. Sometimes I barely made the run but naever failed PT test. I had a commander that wanted everyone to max the PT test. DA civilian I worked with pointed out to him that a whole unit of people thinking they could be two miles away in 10 minutes was not necessarily a good thing. Oh and....... |
7 minutes... and a couple days... months... years...
I plan to finish someday. |

This thread is useless without all of us filming our 1.5.
Most people here are lying. That, or our overweight and obese (average American) friends aren't voting. "Well, I can run at this pace for a lap around the track... so... if I extrapolate then I should be able to run... THIS fast!"

I'm big, slow and stupid. Sometimes a man has to know his limitations. |
Why the fuck would I want to do that?
Probably 15 minutes. I'm not a fast runner at all. Hard to run fast when you're a fat bastard. |
HOLY SHIT! 1.5 miles at 7 min!!?? I had no idea that Carl Lewis was a member here. |
Poll Fail. Need to stretch it out to 20 min for us elderly folks.
i for one would be zombie fodder after about half a mile or so...
Wish I could still run...
But 30+ years ago when I ran a lot, it was in the 10:10-10:30 range. |
Used to be able to run a sub 6 minute mile.......now my legs won't even let me get twice that.
Back in the day, my fastest time on the 3 mile run was 19:30. (Marine Corps PFT)
At the present time, I'm not really sure you can call anything I do "running", so I have no idea. 1.5 miles in, say, 40 minutes? Probably longer. |
This is the Internet. I need an option for faster than 7:00. After I run that fast I like to do reps of bench press with 500lbs.

No shit, when I was in HS to make our football team, the receivers and backs had to run a 6 something mile and the linemen had to run 7 something mile to make the team. We were State Finalists in football and the State Champions in track and I bet not 4 or 5 people on the team could have done a sub 7 minute 1.5 miles run and during the off season we sprinted WAY more than 1.5 miles in a day in different intervals of course. . That has been 30 years, so maybe everyone has gotten faster, but that seems damned fast to me. |
Two miles for me takes 17:30 as of the other day, so I'd imagine around 13:30ish at a steady pace.
I know at one time we did have a guy here that could probably do a 7 minute 1.5 run. Rockhard13f. That bastard could RUN.
I've never run a mile and a half before. 12:00?
I want a Doner.... |
Yeah..... I look like I'm in shape, but I am not in shape. I used to be able to run I could probably have ran that in 8 1/2 to 9 minutes, I'd be sucking trying to run that now.
Right now im running it at around 11 minutes. Thats around 75-80% of where i want to be at. A 100% would be 1.5miles in 10 minutes under FLETC standards for their physical efficiency battery, at least for the National Park Service.
I've been working on sprints and interval training to supplement my paced jog. I didn't do as well as i had hoped when i did the PEB at the academy but they make you take it again anyway when you get hired to a park, so I've been working hard at increasing my stamina and speed. |

There's always olympic level athletes on every forum I've seen this question asked. I'm slim and trim and unless I have a dedicated running coach or program I just can't handle distance. Give me 100 yards and I'll smoke many a person. |
I think I did it under 11 minutes once.(1986 or 87) I was wearing boots and I smoked the first lap. Damn I wish I was in that kind of shape again.

I haven't done a 1.5 mi track but I pulled up some of my 2+ mile runs and I usually reached the 1.5 mile mark between 12:00 and 13:00. There were a couple under 12 minutes and a couple over 13 minutes but most were inbetween. I have such a wide spread because I am not running on even ground and don't run the same route every time. If 1.5mi was my target and I gave it my all on a good day I could probably do 11:00-11:30.
Normally, I run longer distance (4-8 miles) at about a 9:30 - 10 minute mile pace. The past few weeks I've been running along a 2 1/2 mile course, steadily increasing my pace. My best time so far is 19:27, so I'm guestimating my 1.5 mi time to be around 11:00-11:15. It's amazing how much faster you can run when the temperature drops 10-15 degrees like it has here over the past week.
My best 3 mile time in the Marines was 19:30, coming out of boot camp, but that was 20 years ago. |

When I was I'm my twenties I ran three miles every day under 16 mins, a little under 5:40 per mile. I would have been faster for 1.5 miles, but no where near 4:40. Now? I'll get there eventually. Don't wait for me. |
