I have a rough idea on how many bump stocks are out there.
How many do YOU think are our there? Many seem to think they are a niche product used by only a few. So what is your guess? ETA: This is a serious question as I am really interested to see if members here have an accurate picture of the amount of produced slide fire stocks currently in circulation or if their thoughts on this are way off. And, if their thoughts on this are as far off as I think they are, how would it affect their viewpoint. Ok, here are my thoughts My calculations based upon conversations with the founder of the company regarding income generated is 800,000 on the low end well over a million on the high end....... |

None. At least that's what Trump and the ATF need to think.
But for real probably around 100,000. |
|
|
10k to 25k. Most gun owners I've spoken with never even knew what they are

Almost everyone has 2 thumbs, right? Plus the actual bump stocks. So take the population times 2 and then that is a good starting point.

Bump stocks are moot.
If you have one and want to keep hosing lead, just drill the 3rd hole and mill out the shelf and throw the bump stock in the trash can. An ar15 is an 80% M-16. This may be the 'fuck it' line for some. |

Over 100k less than 1 million. Sorry that is not covered in the poll choices.
|
|
At least 2 that I know of. The one the idiot in Vegas used and the one I sold last week.

According to this article, the ATF's own estimate is as high as 600,000
That article is six months old. With that extra time plus home made, my guess is 750k |
|
500,000+
Before all the hoopla over bump stocks started, 1 guy had a table at a local gun show. He was selling them like crazy. |
|
Insert cat reading newspaper meme here.
“I should build a bumpstock.” |
|
I just read OP's estimate of a million in another thread. This seems incredibly high to me,1 million sold would mean they were outselling 10/22s over the past 8 years. I am aware that big stores like Walmart and Cabela's were selling them but a million is a freaking bunch.

Are you defining bumpstocks as any trigger assisting device ?? If so, then I'd guess more than 100 million out there including all of them..... hellfire device, 3D printed bump grips, slidefire, fostech etc.

The more important question you should be asking is how many crimes have been committed with bump type stocks?
I asked FBI and ATF and currently suing the FBI under FOIA to make them answer the question. You may have heard of my attorney as he is well known on this site. Ask yourself this: What if bumps stocks were not used in the Mandalay Bay Shooting of Oct 1, 2017? What if there is no recorded crime having ever been committed with one? What if the shooting occurred using a device the ATF already banned in 1981 (ATF Ruling 81-4) and DOJ knows this? |

Does anybody have a link...I'll fucking order one right now.

I never wanted one, until now. I think I'll make one out of scrap wood.

Too many.
Every owner should be embarassed for having spent good money on one. Toys for man-boys.Kind of like Legos. |

I doubt that there is a million of them out there, but easily way more than 100K.

Have you ever seen a picture of a fired rifle with a bumpstock on it from Vegas? Thought so. View Quote I'm not arguing against bumpstocks i'm just saying between the pics of one laying on the floor of his room and dozens of cellphone video's capturing a high inconsistent rate of fire sorta lead me to assume he probably did... are you saying the picture of the one taken in his room appeared unfired because i never really looked beyond seeing an AR with a slidefire on it. |
