1982 Datsun 720 Pickup. Bought new in the spring of '82. Just turned 77,000 miles on the clock. Sat in my garage for about 5 years, but got it running back in June
after paying $200 for a new battery. Runs like a top. Needs new upholstery and some body work to fix some rusty panels on the single-wall bed. Going to replace the original shocks and 20-year-old tires this week . Attached File |

2019 Chevrolet Silverado TrailBoss 5.3l 35k on it. Deleted the AFM, clamped open the exhaust flapper valve, covered the mesh tailpipe vents. It rides like a cloud.

I just bought a 2013 Chevy 3500 dually w/ 125k. It's the newest vehicle we own aside from my wife's 18 Pilot (105k or so). I'm currently driving a 2004 Honda Pilot with 300k+ on the odometer. Backup car is the '08 Crown Vic with 150k. Prior to the old Pilot I was driving a 2004 Olds Alero, also with 300k on the clock. We gave that car to a co worker of mine, and he's still driving it.
As I get older (46 now), the combination of new car prices ($$$$) and increased reliability means my vehicle purchase window grows wider. When I was a teenager, a 20 year old car was from the early-mid 70's, and ANCIENT. Now a 20 year old car is just old, and 10-15 year old is downright "modern" to me. To me 100k is the new 50k, with 200k being the new 100k. I still expect about anything well maintained (that I'd buy) to last 300k, though. |

18 years old. 2004 F-150 Supercab Lariat. Her name is Feeble. 283k miles so far and still going, although she's very tired. I've been waiting for the car market to come back to its senses before shopping for a replacement, but I really like my pickup.
Whenever I do find a new ride, I'm gonna restore this one. Fresh drivetrain, new paint, fix the dents, etc. |

Quoted: Yeah, I had to have that combo. If you can avoid it, the 98 24v is kind of a PITA, the 98 dash is 1 year only and the replacement bezels are all made for the 99-02 layout. So if you're gonna put up with the 98, at least get the 12v. And with the 98 12v, the fuel sending unit is a half year only thing, and the only place that still sells it wants over $400 for it, it's just a basket and sending unit, there's no lift pump in it I ended up buying a universal ultrasonic fuel sensor that mounts on the bottom of the tank, but it's been finicky. I think I may end up going to the 96-97 sending unit and using a convertor box to correct the ohm range that the 98+ wants to see. Hard to tell from the pic but yours also looks like a club cab, a lot of people don't realize they still made the club cab 98+. Most of the time I can buy parts using 99 model year but every so often get burnt. I do think the hate the vp44 gets is overhyped. You can always tell a vp44 truck, the idle is obnoxiously loud from the high pressure Single point injection. It's no p pump but if it's got pressure to it, it will live. I was always a Ford guy but this was my company truck. When I started 10 years ago. It was barn kept, bone stock 85kmi. I bought it ~4 years ago with 122kmi on the clock for dirty cheap since it needed a convertor(thanks chrysler) and some other deferred maintenance. Just rolled 180000 last week. Quoted: 20 years old. 2002 F150 4.2 V6 with 5 speed manual 49k miles. FIL gave it to me, it had been sitting for 8-9 years. Went through the entire vehicle: fixed all the little broken things, cleaned it up, replaced broken mechanicals and swapped all the fluids/wear items. It needed a decent amount of work. I have less than $2k into this thing total but a decent amount of hours. Few years later I only have 50k miles on it, I only use it for truck stuff or short trips around town. https://i.imgur.com/7EMwpFm.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/eAIzlMW.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/hLoX470.jpeg View Quote Nice ride! 1999 Nissan Frontier, absolutely best truck I’ve ever had. Bought it over twenty years ago with about 15,000 on it . I’ve got over 241,000 on it now and minus tires and one set of new front brake pads I’ve spent less than $ 500 in maintenance ( mostly preventive ) on the truck .
2000 Chevy Tahoe I bought last year from original owner . It has 159,000 and runs great. 2006 Dodge single cab 5.9 Cummins w/ manual 6spd with 141,000 purchased from elderly man in 2020. |

Farrier with a90s square body Ford. He treated himself to a new F250 a couple years ago though. |

View Quote I had an 84-square body. Loved both of those body styles. I would love to have had a short wide bed extended cab with a V8 and a 5-speed like the white one. You will see a V6 and a 5-speed on eBay motors from time to time. Very rare. |
