How I carried at 4:00 for all those years now blows my mind.
I know, CSB. |

Mexican, we called it.
"You'll shoot yer dick off" everyone told us. |

Welcome to the darker side...

I've read about it. What are the pro's & cons?
Do they make specific holsters for carrying AIWB? |
I AIWB a Sphinx SDP Compact (CZ P-01 size) and I'm 5'10 and 190 lbs. I'm also never getting rid of my nutrient pouch on my belly anytime soon, since I like food too much and I hate cutting.
Guy stole my .45. Damn near two years later cops lit him up. Tried to stick my Springfield V10 ported .45 down the front of his pants. Got my gun back in a hazardous materials bag covered in blood.
He served a year and a half or so, got out, got deaded. |

EVERYTIME YES they make AIWB holsters. |

Can't do it. Femoral artery strike is curtains within a minute or two. Removed testicles and weiners are hard to replace.

The boys told me they don't like it when a gun barrel points at them. I listened.

Wilderness belt. Cinch it up tight. Pistol tucked in at six o clock. Hold a proper stature with a loose fitting shirt.
Enjoy life. |

I am a large man and aiwb works fine for me as long as I'm fine with a gun pointed at my junk and if I don't plan on sitting down or bending over.

I have been AIWB carrying for the last year and I love it. So comfortable, fast to draw and easy to conceal.
G19 in a Raven Vanguard 2. |

I never understood the "omgurrrrr ur gonna blow ur dick off" crowd.
1) Gun gets secured in holster. 2) Holster gets secured to belt. 3) ????? 4) Profit. Why is everyone unholstering and reholstering so much? Quit playin with your pecker until it's show time. |
I'll never go back. I used to have to make myself carry until I give in and tried appendix carry. And that was with smaller guns (xds, p290, g26). Then I went to a G19 in appendix and never leave home without it!
I was having a slight issue with the grip printing a little and i came across the claw that t-rex uses on their raptor line and it completely solves that problem. Just made the switch to a CZ P07 and i feel like I have the perfect setup. DA/SA with decocker so I don't have to worry about any freak accidents. Just keep the booger hook off the trigger! |

Brag thread, damn flat bellys Not necessarily! I have a keg, not a six-pack, and it works ok for me Same. I've got a lot of proof that I've lived a good life and eaten a lot of good food... I can still pull off appendix carry with a full size. |
I can jog carrying a 1911a1 tucked without a holster at 6 o clock just by wearing a belt.
Holsters serve a purpose. |
5'11" 170 lbs. I aiwb my g19 no problem. If the gun rides high when you bend it won't dig into your leg. Also you'll get a better purchase on the pistol like this. I carry around 12:30-1. It's to uncomfortable to carry any other way inside the waistband.
A good belt and an appendix holster really help also low rider/hip hugger jeans aren't going to work. I try to get the gun as high up as possible and a shirt between me and the pistol helps the gun shift around d when I'm moving or bending. |

AIWB is the best carry method I've found for CCW purposes. It works well for me in all seasons, in all types of clothing. And it allows me to carry a full size handgun with reasonable comfort and total concealment. And unless you are an idiot, you aren't going to shoot your dick off. I've been carrying a Glock 17 or 22 this way (at 12 o' clock) for a pretty good while now and my cock and balls are still intact.
I've always prefered appendix carry when possible. Problem is that I've got no more compact pistols.
I used to have an XDS .45 at 1 o'clock any time I was wearing pants. I sold it a while back to help finance my move to CA - we'll write that off to making bad life choices. Most everything else I have now doesn't wear well that way. Seems that if it has a full "beavertail" then it sticks into your stomach. I'm now a 4 o'clock carrier. |
Not as easy to draw when seated at a table or while driving.
I don't carry any other way IWB. Easy to switch to cross draw as well.
I don't pull the gun(s) out for show and tell much, so I rehoslter with the holster off. If i have to draw, I have bigger issues than worrying about putting the gun back in the holster. I just use CompTac 2:00 holsters with the J hook, guns disappear. |
I never will understand how people can sit while carrying appendix. Like, when you're seated, is the weapon vertical? Does it require mom-jeans or something?
Set the holster slightly cocked at an angle and I can sit stand run jump whatever. Only way its comfortable for me to carry plus it fits with all my jeans. No extra sizes or weird shit like that when carrying elsewhere, it just fits there. Only place i ever have mine tucked. Can carry in shorts and a t shirt that fits and not see anything since my chest is bigger than my waist. If i carry in the small of my back i have to wear shirts bigger than normal or obvious pistol is obvious.
I find it hard to sit down when carrying Mexican style. Besides, I like my dick.

Yeah, because there are so many guns that just fire while sitting in the holster. |
