That show always confused me. The laugh track was all wrong. Should have been laughing a Meatball the whole time and applauding Archie.

I saw that show, and Sanford & Son first run. Both were hilarious.
Redd Foxx had some great comedy albums years before that too. They were really funny, considered off-color/risqué but mild by today's standards. I do realize O'Connor was a liberal, although I don't think he was a communist like so many these days. Liberal at one time didn't equal marxist like it seems to these days. |

Archie Bunker was there only for Meathead to spout his personally held communist propaganda. The show was cleverly designed to conceal the obvious. The Waltons also employed an abhorrent turd of a human being that no one really knew about at the time.
