Who cares if he fears as he runs towards you. If he is crazy enough to run toward you with a gun, use it. My plan doesn't change if the criminal is fearful or not, a charge is a charge. Plus then you run the risk of bringing a bayonet to a gun fight, thinking you can stab your way out of it. Plus, loved ones tend to round corners in houses, and by the time you or then notice what's going on, they've got a bayonet to the eye or throat.

Looking over past threads, it seems a lot of people seem to think that you can't put a bayonet on a 16" barrel with carbine gas. Where did this idea come from?

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: I honestly do not remember any twisting. It was just about stabbing really hard .. sometimes combined with a good buttstroke. Modern stocks make this almost impossible. Yeah - these were Garands. A Garand bayonet has been on my want list, for far too long. |

Quoted: Our brains seem to be trained on an instinctual level to fear knives. A criminal might well think that you won't pull the trigger if he rushes at you, but it's entirely different to run at a man holding a spear pointed straight at him. A 14.5" barreled AR with a bayonet doesn't lose much mobility rounding corners, and can in fact hinder Lootie's attempt to grab your barrel as it comes around the corner. At the very least, I recommend you have one available. More options are better than fewer. View Quote Spend the extra barrel length on a suppressor, and just shoot motherfuckers. |

If you weapon has a bayonet lug, then own a bayonet that fits.

Guess what was in the mailbox just now?
Sumbitch still has cosmoline on the blade. Nice military packaging. EDITED TO ADD: On second look, I don't think it's cosmoline, just a heavy coat of oil. Really nice. Attached File |

I got a stabby replica for Christmas that fits an M1 Garand or 1903 Springfield, also bought a new Ontario OKC3S stabby for ARs on Amazon recently.
Edit: want a really long WWI stabby because of movies like 1917. |

I’ve wanted to blacksmith a bayonet for a while now.. problem is none of our AR’s have both a lug or the flash hider for it.

If I mag dump the D60 and something still needs stabbed, I’ll probably just give up. I’ve had a good run.

Quoted: I honestly do not remember any twisting. It was just about stabbing really hard .. sometimes combined with a good buttstroke. View Quote I taught the Bayonet Course at Ft. Ord, the quick twist was to relax the pierced muscle quickly to get the bayonet out. I used a bayonet twice, once in Berlin in 1961 in riot control near the entry gate at Templehoff and the other time in Detroit in 67. I had just returned from Active Duty and was in the 8/40 Armor Scout Platoon and was sent to that shitty place. Our bayonets in both cases were sharper than hell which no one was used to. Several guys cut the shit out of their hands. |

There are bayonets almost weekly on our own EE Blades. I've purchased 3 in the past 6 months.
