op's perfect places to live feature either hood rats and the highest murder rate in the nation..... or hipsters......

If Hillary wins, there will be a lot of threads like this...............
Personally,I say we take over Mexico-can't be that many people left there since most are here.............. |
|

Seattle?
Try Portland. It's Seatte lite, but with more hipsters. We only had 50" of rain this year and the gun laws are currently better. |
|
I woudn't move to any of those top three cities. No f*cking way.

None of the choices mentioned anywhere in this thread look good from here in Alaska. Nobody likes guns or freedom up here. Remember what we talked about in the last group meeting. I mean, yeah, this place sucks. Chicago, OP, your future is for sure in Chicago. |

Why is move to Maine the only one in all caps??
If this is a serious thread... it's great up here the jobs aren't the best but you'll live decently as long as your at least 30 min+ north of Portland. And it's safer then the rest of your choices The one protest we had recently was just a bunch of libs standing and yelling stupid crap until the cops told them to get out of the street |

Why do people want to live in big cities? View Quote There are certain advantages such as entertainment, arts, museums, etc. But often, that can be offset by outdoor activities away from cities. It's personal taste. I would appreciate conservatives moving back to the cities that they surrendered to liberals in the 1950s. So, OP, consider Los Angeles (if your conservative). |

Chicago is about as gun-unfriendly as it gets. It's a nice city to dart in, do something (concert, sporting event, museum, dinner), and then gtfo. As someone who has lived on the fringe of the shitty for my entire life, I would never, ever want to live there. The collar counties are ok though, specifically DuPage. There are a decent amount of jobs (best bet is to live in a collar county and take the metra) and tons of hot women in the city, but many won't date you unless you're a city resident yourself. Plus, they're going to be 90%+ liberals. Ugh! Choose wisely! View Quote It's a lot more gun friendly than NYC, LA, Boston or San Francisco. Illinois is shall issue. |
|
Honestly, you really seem like more of the San Francisco type.....

I would say if you want a major city move to Texas, but...I question your judgment and the seriousness of this thread.

I hear the south side of Chicago is nice this time of year. Sounds like you'll fit right in there.

Dude, what?
I have lived in the Chicago area all my life. While we've gottten CCW in the past year, IL isn't gun friendly. That said I live in DuPage county that's a tad more red but not by much. The best advice I have is move to Northwest Indiana. You're close enough to Chicago to take a job there for you have lifetime carry and class 3 goodies. If you must move to IL, DuPage county(Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, Naperville if you can afford it, Lombard, all good places. I'm in Wheaton.)is the place to do it. As far as gun rights, Detroit is better, for crying out loud. Moving from NC to IL IS a step backwards. |

hahahahaha
well this is a first If you don't mind not owning AR's move to Chicago. I keep my scary AR's and one SBR in the suburbs at my parents. If you're a city person, Chicago is great. Anyone here who says different is either 1. not a city person or 2. hasnt been here in 20 years edit: damn do I wish AZ had a good film industry |
|
Seattle and Poerland are run bu the liberal crowd, so keep that in mind. I would consider one of the more gun friendly states like Montana, Arizona, Idaho, New Mexico, Utah.
Start doing some research on things like gun friendly states, demographics, total tax burden on residents, availability of medical care and education, real estate prices per square foot and so on. That way you can make a more informed decision. |

And COL is not better. I pay $780 a month for my apartment and it's on the low end for a one bedroom in DuPage. Anywhere else it's $800 or more. If you choose to live in the city plan on paying at least $1k a month in rent for most anywhere decent.

If you're gonna move, do it right. Ain't no city, like New York City!

Fuck Inslee is about to be reelected, both Seattle and elected positions are actively against your gun rights. This is a great state, but it has not gotten better the last two decades.
