So every week on Saturdays I go into my branch to deposit a check from my checking account into my checking account.
I prefer doing this in person that way I can fill out the SAR while I’m there Well today there was a new teller and she kept going on and on about how I’m writing a check for no reason I was aghast with her comment...does she not know how bank fraud works??!!? Well I must have raised my voice because the branch manager comes out to talk to me with his shiny new Hermès tie and Jacob and Company watch. He asks me to calm down and that he will cash the check himself as I’m a valued client with a 5 digit account balance 10 minutes later I’m out on my way and the new teller is giving me the stink eye This is a very large national community bank and I’m considering moving my money How was your day? |

I'm confused.
You wrote a check to yourself and deposited it back into the same account? |

Monday I’ll be going to the bank to do the same type of thing and mine is going to take an appointment. And I’m betting I won’t make a thread about it.

The worst type of bank customers are the ones with a little bit of money who think they’re a big deal.

A five whole digit account balance?
WOW! Bet that impressed the heck out of them! |

Banks suck. I keep my money parked with discover online. The only issue I have is when I sell something and have a large amount of cash on hand.

Weak ass rant. Everyone is stressed, so cut her a break. I work for a Credit Union and the people that work at our branches are stressed and do not want to be near people.
OP, is set in his ways as you are worried about nothing...do a mobile deposit and get with the times. Keep your ass at home and not make people wait on you because you can't use technology. |

I can do that from my phone in 30 seconds.
Shit, I bought a house with my phone. |

LOL, 5 digits
LOL, writing checks No one writes checks anymore boomer! |
|
|
So was this from Checking account from Bank A into checking account from Bank B?
I have no comprehension of why you would do this from and to the same checking account. Anybody got an explanation? |

Important thing that I think ALOT of people are missing here- OP went INTO the lobby. As in FTF with not just one, but two actual people... Who actually has a bank lobby open, instead of being just the drive- up window?

After my last "based on a true story" post, this had me literally crying in laughter. The first two lines had me spitting out my drink.
bravo OP. |

You said "I was aghast"
LOL, now that's funny Drama queen much? |

Weak OP. Hey back to me when you loan yourself the money to buy your house, go to one bank to buy a cashiers check to deposit into your checking account in person in the branch at your other bank and then circle around to the ATM to withdraw enough cash to go to the Western Union to get another money order which you will deposit into your savings account that you will them save instead of investing into pork belly futures.
