I miss South Carolina where when you ordered tea, it meant sweet.

Up here in the Godless New England, "Oh we don't have sweet tea. You can add sugar." Its not the same. Hot brewed sweet tea or plain water.

I love sweet tea with lemon or lime but have been drinking unsweet to lose the love handles. We put spearmint leaves in ours to change things a little.

Sun tea or brewed tea with 2-3 teaspoons of sugar per pint.

"Sweet tea" is foul.  They boil the tea, releasing ALL of the tanins, which can then only be counteracted by adding a sh1t ton of sugar.  It's like cooking a steak well done and trying to fix it by adding sh1t tons of salt.

Generalize much?  By your account I'd make 3.06 southerners.

Let me ask a question.  If northerners don't drink sweet tea why does a "regular" coffee come with cream and sugar?  That never made sense to me.

Sweet tea on the rocks.  Tall glass of ice filled with room temp sweet tea, which melts the ice and dilutes the sugar content a little.

Although, I've been doing a half and half lately at places with sweet and unsweet tea urns next to each other.

Just so y'all understand.

You can't just put sugar into iced tea and **POOF** you've got sweet-tea.

You need to add the sugar when you're brewing the tea and the water is boiling.

Then you let it cool.

Now you have sweet-tea.

1 gallon of distilled water.

3 pouches of black tea

3 pouches of green tea

2 pouches of raspberry tea

3 tablespoons of Agave nectar

( as noted above, add the Agave Nectar while brewing )

PERFECT TEA

I drink a lot of iced tea and now it's straight, no sweetner.  Probably 48+ oz a day, if not more.  I do hot, loose leaf blacks and greens, but for iced tea, it's generally Lipton 'iced tea' family bags.

Sweet tea, that's the only kind there is. It's not the same if you add sugar once it's cold, and fuck you to the Denny's waitress in Phoenix, AZ, who thought "sweet tea" meant raspberry tea.
