All Catholics are Christians. Not all Christians are Catholic.
|
|
|
That Jesus is my personal Lord & Savior and the belief in the Holy Spirit, not dogma and doctrine.

One side believes in saints that are actually just renamed pagan gods that were created to help unite Rome back in the day. Other side doesn't believe in pagan gods.

Catholics ARE Christians.
You mean between Catholics and Protestants? |

The Catholics tried to cockblock Bluff King Hal, and he called his frat buddy Marty Luther and was like “omg halp!”
Luther was like “I got u fam” and they translated the Bible into English. Hal then proceeded to get all kinds of tail because chicks dig an English Bible. The Pope got mad and shit, but Hal’s grand-daughter kicked his ass out of Northern Europe. The Swedes helped somehow. The Dutch stood around and stuck their fingers in dikes. |

The RC church invokes the Biblical Commerce Clause.
…17Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven. 18And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”… The RC church says this gives them the power to decide what is right and what is wrong and to essentially do anything it wants to do and all are bound by it. It’s the same as the FedGov saying the Commerce Clause gives the authority over everything tiny bit of our lives. The protesting faiths do not concur. |

One sentance?.. sure:
Protestants do not believe that the Pope is God's mouthpiece, interpreter and rule maker. |
|
I'm an atheist, but Catholics are Christians. For 3/4 the time Christianity has existed, they've been the only Christians. That's like saying that people in England don't speak English.

Three things Baptists don't recognize:
1) the infallibility of the Pope 2) the holiness of Mary 3) each other at the liquor store (Former Catholic, now Baptist here) |

"Catholics" are the songs on the soundtrack from the movie while "Christians" are the songs on the soundtrack inspired by the movie.

You're looking for a specific answer when you separate Catholics from Christians as a whole. And Christianity is a pretty big tent--Catholic, Lutheran, all the different types of Orthodox, Anglican, Evangelical, Baptist, Methodist, Amish, Quaker, Shaker, Mormon, Seventh Day Adventist, and thousands of other denominations. Why don't you narrow it down to one of the non-Catholic Christian sects, and then you might get an actual useful answer.

One sentence though to compare Catholics to Prots really would be:
Catholics can be called a unified group in theology and belief, where the only unity in Protestants is basically in not being Catholic, what with there being so many denominations and sects and whatnot. |

But I would say that we agree on 95%+ of Christian doctrine beyond those points and still consider Baptists Christians. |

Catholic salvation entails;
while Protestant Christian salvation entails believing as stated in John3:16. |

The difference between Catholics and Christians? Troll threads.
|
|
One follows the Bible...
the other follows the Bible, a Pope, and a bunch of added texts and rituals. |

I will answer your question with a question.
What is the biggest difference between Mexican food and Tacos? |

From what I understand catholics believe you get to heaven by your good works. So they believe they can save themselves. I am Lutheran an believe that jesus died on the cross to take away my sins
an by believing in him I will be saved. There is nothing I can do to go to heaven but believe in God. |

Catholics believe that Jesus started a church while here on earth with the 12 apostles.
He duly informed them, blessed them with the power of the Holy Spirit, and sent them forth with a mission. Every other Christian church was started by someone else who was not one of those 12. |
|
I believe the main difference between Catholics and other Christians is thier view on Mary. Catholics worship her as the Virgin Mary, mother of God. Other religions do not believe that she was a virgin, or do not pray to her etc. all of them believe the Jesus Christ is the son go God. And that we should be generally good people.
