Popeyes is build a restaurant right next door to a brand-new ChikFilA in my town. I can't wait, the next-nearest Popeyes is way too far to be worth it.

Chick-fil-A makes their chicken too sweet. I don't care about the service. Popeye's all the way.

IMO, chick-fil-a food is merely “solidly above average” and the pricing “not great, but not terrible.”
The reason people flock to CF is because the restaurant are invariably CLEAN, the lines are FAST, and the staff is COURTEOUS and COMPETENT. This is achieved by not hiring trashy, hood rat, and/or overly vibrant individuals. Sorry, but it’s the truth. Eating there is a pleasure and you’ll get a pretty good sandwich for a decent price. Yeah, Popeyes has better chicken and the red band & rice with biscuits are fantastic. But have you ever been to a Popeyes? The food tastes great despite its employees. Both near me get the order correct probably 60% of the time. I went to go to the Popeyes near my work earlier this year like I usually do once or twice a month... I had to divert to the Mexican joint across the street (already busted twice by ICE) because there was shooting at the Popeyes 10 minutes earlier and a future-cancer-curing-youth was deader on the sidewalk. Me and my coworker were not particularly surprised. It didn’t even make the news. |

OP should add a poll to see who has tried the new Popeyes sandwich.
The vast majority will sing a different tune after trying it. |

There is a reason that CFA is the top FF chain by a wide margin.

Popeye's just opened a new outlet in our town.
The novelty's worn off and it's nearly always empty. We're hoping that when it dies, Chik-Fil-a will tale over the building. |

Chik-Fil-A sucks. And the servers are smarmy, with a stink of moral superiority. All of them. At every location. View Quote Woman gets emotional over exceptional Chick Fil A service |

For years, there were only 2 Popeyes in town... A mile part on MLKJr Blvd. I was driving by late one night right before they close and there was a line for the drive-thru a block long...
I've had a few bad meals there, but overall it's pretty good. I'm currently eating there way too often... And they ain't cheap either. |

CFA (Chick-Fil-A) can go to hell. I decided after a few errand that I needed breakfast. Poo. It is Sunday and CFA is closed. I had to resort to McDonald's since I did not feel like cooking.
Tomorrow CFA opens and I can get breakfast or wait until lunch time. Depends upon when my schedule allows time to eat. Either way I win. Maybe if I time it right I can get breakfast late and then get a chickie sandwich to go when the lunch menu starts. That is the superior planning of a white nationalist. I ate at a Popeye's once about 25 years ago. I never went back. Have not been to Arby's in about the same amount of time. |

CFAs food is overblown IMHO. It the service that keeps em alive

Even if the actual food is a wash, think of the service you got the last time you went to Chick Fil A, now think of the service you got the last time you went to a Popeyes.
Uh, yeah... |

I kept trying Popeyes, one time out of four trips they got the order right, three our of four they had some kind of major goofup, this would be on the individual store or it might be that they just have very poor standards.
1 They were advertising a special on fried crawfish and the ads made a big deal out of their "special sauce" that came with it. First trip they said they ran out of it and weren't getting any more, even though the ads continued for a couple of months, and they never took the signs down from their windows. 2 Tried to get the crawfish special again about a year later when they had the same promotion. I get my order, no special sauce, so I go back to the counter and ask about it, the counter crew look around, they can't find it, finally a shift manager wanders up and says he will look in the back, 10 min later we are still waiting, finally the counter person sends someone to look for the shift manager, they finally come back, the other guy looked then went on break without sending word, no...we don't have any, can these idiots do anything right? BTW the crawfish consisted of chunks of fried breading with a tiny dark spot that might have been crawfish in the middle, the only taste was the breading, I wasted my money. 3 Came back to give them another chance, ordered one of their stock items and a soft drink, they took my money and gave me a cup, the entire soft drink machine was broken down, all they had was sweet tea, which I don't really care for, why didn't the counter moron tell me that when I ordered? She knew it wasn't working when she took my order. Another customer asked if the soft drink fountain they used for the drive by was working, why yes its working, can they fill your soft drink from that fountain? No, that's only for the drive by!!!!!! You Have to be kidding! Nope, they refused to fill his cup from the drive by fountain. 4 Stupidly enough decided to give them another try, went by and ordered a bucket of chicken, that was the only one they didn't foul up. But after all the BS I decided the chicken wasn't any better than other places and they had the absolute worst service of anyplace I'd ever tried, they would never get another penny of my money. |

Remember the rubbery chicken discussion from a couple of days ago? My first experience with rubbery chicken was at Popeye's, and the chicken strips would even bounce off of the table - we tried it.

Quoted: CFA is great, the one nearest me just posted on Facebook that in one hour they served 146 customers at the drive-thru window. That's one customer placing an order, paying, and getting their food every 24 seconds....... View Quote |

CFA has nice clean restaurants with nice people, and bland chicken. It's the Starbucks of chicken, big on image, low on taste.
"This is It" has dubious staff in most locations, and kickass chicken. Bojangles is a happy medium if you're looking for a really good chicken biscuit. Which is how you eat chicken in bread in the first place. |

We've had that spicy chicken sandwich for awhile now and it is awesome.

Tried the local Popeyes once. Food was stale, service was slow, staff obviously hated their jobs. There is a reason they have an average 1.3 stars on Yelp - they suck.
I’ll take CFA any day - food is always fresh and hot. Service is prompt and friendly. And it is consistent across the locations I have visited |

Hahahaha. No. It ain’t just about the chicken sammich. View Quote It's way more about a nice, clean environment. If it was only about the food I would go to gourmet restaurants every meal. It's about fast, clean, convenient, affordable, good food. Popeyes has a long way to go on most of those even if they make their food better. |

I had one of the spicy sandwiches today and it was on point. I think it’s easily as good as CFA. No customer service issues either, in fact our local Popeye’s is known for dropping an extra tender or two in the basket whenever my son orders them.
Can’t have too many good sandwich options. |

I think CFA has the best chicken sandwich out of all the fast-food type places. However, I've always wondered why Popeyes(who I think make the best fried chicken out of all franchise places) never had a real competitor. Well, looks like this might change come tomorrow nationwide. I for one will be trying it out since the CFA and Popeyes here are practically right next to one another. Cost: $3.99 the sandwich features a buttermilk battered and hand-breaded chicken breast filet, two barrel-cured pickles, and a choice of either classic mayo or spicy Cajun spread on a buttery, toasted brioche bun View Quote https://www.brandeating.com/2019/08/popeyes-unveils-new-chicken-sandwich.html Review View Quote |

Never. Around here you can go to CFA at lunch time with the line wrapped around the place and still get through in 5-6 minutes. Go to any of the local Popeye's at anytime, with no one in the store and it will take more than 10 minutes to get your food. I get a hankering for some Popeye's chicken tenders and red beans, once in a while, but knowing how long it will take to get it, ways heavily on my decision.
