Some of y'all are just almost evil posting up these beautiful revolvers pictures. Make me feel like I've been slacking LOL.
Here's my modest collection.

Top left: S&W 25-5. has the best factory SA pull I have ever shot.
Top Right: Ruger Security Six. Built like a tank.
Middle Left: Old Ruger single six.
Middle right: Colt Peacemaker .22. First firearm I ever owned, it was a Christmas present from an older bother when I was 12 or so. Also have the box and Mag cylinder.
Bottom middle: New Colt Python. Has a great DA pull but the SA is lacking.

A 27 357 would be decent
I’d be very hesitant to buy into 45colt

I vote for a 625 or a 629. Actually get the 625 and the cylinder chamfering tool from Brownells. You'll be reloading so fast, you'll expect to see Jerry Miculek when you look in the mirror.

I don't have a single L frame in my collection. I'm hoping to find a 5/686 on Sunday at the gun show, but I'm also hunting for a 44 Blackhawk with the 5.5 inch barrel. So many guns, so few dollars...

686+ with some new Altamonts. I haven't shot this one a bunch but it's surprisingly accurate for me.

Done? No, not quite. You are off to an amazing start!

Not until you have a 2-1/2" K or L frame
At least one 3" gun (bonus points for N frame)
N frame half lug
N frame full lug
A less common chambering: 22 mag, 41 Special, 44 Special, 32 mag/327
An unfired, NIB 30+ year old specimen

By the time you get to this point you will likely have way more than these six.

I've had this Rossi for a long time as a "throw around gun" & don't worry what happens to it.
Fits the purpose of what I bought it for....not "SICK" of it yet.....the puke is fake rubber, just thought this post "pix" was appropriate for the gun.
Yea I know it..........I might be better off throwing it for defense than shooting it...but it still goes BANG.!!!!

So, what had happened was.....

I was waiting on the guy at the car stereo place because the radio is the most important part of my boys truck at the moment. Idle hands being the devils workshop.

At gun shop #2 this little guy jumped out at me. S&W 10-6 with these Safariland grips, which I've never seen before.

Does anyone know anything about these grips?

They're just larger factory grips. It has a little weight to it and just feels really nose heavy with the short stock grips.

They're well regarded by the old Cops who've used them. Iirc they were a Guy Hogues design that safariland bought and sold in a hard synthetic.

Finally shot a couple of my “I’ve never fired them” revolvers today.  M64-2 2” with some Eagle Sambar Stag grips and an M27-2 5”.

All reloads today.  Some 125gr coated flat points, 158gr SWC’s, 147gr Speer G2 Gold Dots (kinda a special project), and some 90gr XTP magnums (just for fun).  Both were a joy to shoot.

Speer #8 has a terrific load for that Model 27, referred to for many years on internet forums as "The Load".

I used The Load under my own cast 358429 bullet from a .38 case and my 175 grain bullets were hitting 1050-1100 fps with a standard deviation of something like 7fps (I wish I could be more exact, but I haven't loaded in some years). Accuracy with my own cast bullets and every 158 LSWC I tried was terrific.

Good Lord, the gun show today was eye-opening. Beat to shit model 64 that rattled like crazy and had rough lockup, featuring torn up pachmayrs? $700. 686-4 with a top strap that was flame cut horrifically? $950. Absolutely nuts.

I did check this one off the list, though.

They are Hogues and were first sold by Bill Roger's back in the late 70's and early 80's and then bought by Safariland.  A lot of Roger's designs can be seen in old Safariland stuff too.  Rogers had a whole line of early retention and breakfront duty holsters.  And, yeah, they were a good grip; very popular too.
